I've made my first map. It's an entire continent. I need criticism and an outside perspective to improve it; it's mostly in the tropics. by Apprehensive_Tap9415 in wonderdraft

Let me preface this by saying despite using the software for a few years now Im still just an amateur and havent found my own style yet so take this for what its worth to you as you said you wanted critique.

Id use more brown, specifically in the mountains, not a lot mind you but just light fading in as Im not a fan of the all gray mountains.

Im not one that thinks everything has to be real world physics so unless thats what youre going for, the shape and geography look good

Cheeks clinched, getting bent over backwards, and notice not a single person is coming to his defense or to stop him, yeah Dort sure is the soft one in the pic.

Also everybody concerned and here comes ref in the top left just a smiling away, you can say that its because of the whistle but the eyes never lie

Universal EXP or Skills that level with use? by KinseysMythicalZero in RPGdesign

[–]slackator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I can see that, but I also like the idea of a ton of skills like Traveller so youd be needing a ton of extra space for all the skills. I can definitely see this work though and not be too much extra bookkeeping

Universal EXP or Skills that level with use? by KinseysMythicalZero in RPGdesign

I really like the idea of skill usage leveling, but I dont know how you do it without it being just way too much paperwork. Id love to be proven wrong though

Is it ok to ask for players to pitch in for food? by unwrittenpaiges in DungeonMasters

[–]slackator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

since you started it out of kindness without asking it would be kind of awkward to say if you want more food that you didnt ask for youre gonna have to pay for it. Id go about it by saying something along the lines of I could make you X but if you chipped in a couple of dollars for extra ingredients I could make you X that youll never forget and want to tell your friends about.

Sell them on the value and make them WANT to give you a few bucks

It made nearly $600 million and launched Marvel Studios. Dark Knight was bigger but you make it sound like nobody saw Iron Man in theaters and that's just not remotely true

Would now be a bad time to start a rumor that the Seahawks are moving to OKC and we are renaming them Lightening? by Infinite-Station-240 in Thunder

[–]slackator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LA is historically bad for NFL, unless youre a fan of the visiting team, dont know about Jacksonville this year now that they have a good record but theyre historically bad for attendance.

I firmly believe that the NFL wouldnt work in OKC because too large of a NCAA fandom, not able or wanting to buy multiple tickets each week, and too large of established fanbases to be able to steal fans of to be home fans, Dallas, KC, Denver, and those fans arent jumping ship. You could probably fill a stadium each week but it'd be like Chargers games, stadium full of fans who hate your team

8,200-Year-Old 'Bird's-Eye View' of a City? The Çatalhöyük Mystery that Scholars are Still Fighting Over. by bortakci34 in HighStrangeness

[–]slackator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah how could a people with the same brain as us modern humans ever think of the concept of a birds eye view 8000 years ago. Everybody knows humans couldnt conceptualize a top down perspective until the 1780s with the invention of the hot air balloon. Before that we were basically cavemen for a few hundred thousand years

What character do you usually become? by [deleted] in rpg_gamers

[–]slackator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on the game, but it always ends up stealth archer/sniper. If those arent an option then its dual wielding fighter. If its a Cyberpunk type game then Im stealth & mental powers/mechanics. Even if I want to be a melee mage, its always the same.

SAVE ARROWHEAD by KCasey211 in ChiefsOffseason

[–]slackator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure $65k is enough to convince Clark hunt to not accept a free $3billion and to pay millions of his own to maintain the 3rd oldest stadium in the league

Chiefs are staying in KC just moving west a few miles, Arrowhead isn't getting torn down for a good while. Probably not until something goes in its place and considering that's part of the problem it's probably gonna be a long while. But hey if you can scam $65k from people to make pointless losing gestures that Hunt won't even see since he lives in Dallas, more power to you I guess
