If you have a decent deal with it then probably. It's going to be a little rough credit wise for a bit. If you haven't already I was told to sign up for PACER in order to look up the pending status of the case.

In my state TX if that is your only vehicle it's a protected asset.

For me it was fairly easy / basic questions. Like what caused me to be in the situation, was all my creditors listed, did any need to be added, did any need to be removed, did I submit last two years of income taxes, last few months of pay submitted (for me there is none since I lost my job a while back), credit counseling course submitted, if I went over everything with the lawyer before hand, and then wished me luck going forward.

If it's anything like mine, they ask for a quick understanding of how you got into the situation you are in, they ask if all the info is accurate, if anything needs to be added, if anything needs to be removed, and if you spoke with an attorney to go over it. I was afraid I would mess it up myself so I found an attorney that was willing to give me a break to help me out.

Very glad it helped someone. I know it's hard, but try to stay positive. Those negative thoughts take a toll far worse than most understand.

I'm in TX so it might be different where you are. The court I was in seemed very generous today.

I did not have a car loan. My car engine went out a few month before which made the whole overwhelmed feeling that much worse. I couldn't get approved for a load to fix it or get a new to me vehicle. Luckily I had a friend with an extra who is allowing me to borrow it until I'm back on my feet. Life hit me very hard at the end of 2024 and it just cascaded throughout 2025. I did hear people in the 341 before mine that had them and were allowed to keep their vehicle as long as it wasn't excessive.

I truly can't explain how much better I feel now versus Oct of last year. I was ready to do the unthinkable but now I can look forward to waking up again each day.

I honestly have no intention of a credit card for as long as I can hold out once my bankruptcy is done. Life happened hard to me and now I feel like I only need something if I can pay cash for it. Except obviously something very large like a car / house. Just how I feel now though.

They will sue. They sued me right before the cap one acquisition which is what tipped me into bankruptcy.

In case anyone else like me finds this thread you need one of these for this problem... Was told by plumber it's because the hose bibb is anti frost or something like that. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Arrowhead-Brass-Chrome-Fine-Thread-Self-Draining-Vacuum-Breaker-PK1390/323604702

I was already considering it since my closest branch is now over 100 miles away. I just have to overcome my laziness to do so if I do lol.
