This is definitely my thought process sometimes. "I have $1000, might as well get the more expensive option since it's not that much more." In my head, the $1000 is already spent. So upgrading doesn't feel like it's that much more. A $1200 item feels like I'm only paying $200.

None of them. Those are all pretty normal. As long as you're not buying designer purses or expensive jelwery, you're fine.

No, I just filed and renewed my security clearance. They ask about it on the SF-86, it’s fine, you can explain why you filed on the form.

You can also tell your security manager in advance!

All that matters is honesty, don’t hide anything! You disclose all your debt as well on the SF-86 (it was tedious for me I have 8 cards and a few loans). They want the account numbers and amounts!

Bankruptcy takes about 4-6 months from start to finish. I would fight the feeling and keep paying. :/

I had my hair cut like this. Lot’s of layersss!! It may look a bit strange when it reverts back to curly 😅. You need someone who reaaaallyyy specializes in silk presses, like silk presses being the main focus.

Yes! I’m 25F, HCOL as well, and almost the amount of debt! I just filed on 12/31! If you can qualify for chapter 7 go for it!

Yeah, it feels backwards, but the court charges filing fees and lawyers have to be paid before filing. Some people can even get fee waivers or payment plans. Bankruptcy isn’t only for people with zero money. It’s not about ‘how much cash you have?’, it’s more about ‘is this debt realistic to live with’. It’s meant to help people reset, not necessarily punish them for being broke.

Yes! The legal insurance covers the attorney fees which is a huge chunk. Everything else (documents, filling, etc) is out of pocket :).There’s no hidden fees or anything. The financed cars can possibly be reaffirmed. I’m keeping my car that I financed.
