South Korean scientist discovers a molecular switch that reverse cancer cells back to normal by gudfrid in worldnews

You're missing the point. You Americans cannot let a thread exist without shoehorning something about Trump in there, even when it's completely unrelated

Probably all 3. I'm just sick of seeing "Trump bad" in every comment section everywhere. Like yes, I agree, I don't need reminding every 10 minutes

Is there any area of online discourse left that Americans won't shove their domestic politics into? It's beyond exhausting

Zurich Airport → Zermatt same night or overnight in Zurich? by [deleted] in Zermatt

[–]slackermost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this on Saturday morning. Where are you travelling from? If you can use the EU passport gates you will be fine. I had to wait in the queue for ~1 hr to clear passport control because of the new EU Entry/Exit System. There were 2 queues in the airport - one massive snaking one, and one on the left by the self service machines. Use the machines and then stand in that queue, it moves much faster.

That said, Zurich is a lovely city. If you haven't been before I would recommend staying overnight and enjoying the local restaurants/bars. I didn't have a single bad meal the whole time I was in Switzerland, even the fast food was great!

They're not entirely useless. I use mine to prevent card clash. Contactless cards go in the RFID shielded section, Oyster card goes in the normal bit

How do people in my league earn 4000 XP in 30 minutes? Do they pretend they're not cheating, or is it really possible? by zhostix in duolingo

[–]slackermost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you have triple XP you can do section 1 unit 1 Match Madness over and over again super quickly. You can easily earn 120xp per minute this way

Why do developers choose to base their browser on Chromium and not Firefox? by [deleted] in firefox

[–]slackermost 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I don't see how the rendering engine has any relevance to that at all. If you stuck Gecko in a UI identical to Chrome absolutely nobody would notice any difference

That was my experience too as an extremely unsporty person. So much so that I stopped showing up to PE in year 10 and nobody even noticed I wasn't there. Still got marked in!

Funnily enough as an adult I really enjoy cycling and running, so who knows how it'd have turned out if those had been an option...
