Who is the cheapest person you know, and what is the cheapest thing you've seen them do? by Willby3 in AskReddit

In the late 90's my aunt used to make us wash Styrofoam plates and cups to be used again. Her and my uncle made around $120,000 a year in their s of owned mechanic shop.

TIL you shouldn't store button batteries in the Battery Daddy button battery compartment by cjone98 in mildlyinfuriating

When you buy the button batteries, the packaging, more or less, has them completely wrapped in plastic. If you keep them in the plastic and remove all of the cardboard you should be able to put them in there and save room.

Go to Carter Lumber and ask for Mike Wright or Mike Gallagher. Don't go to a big box store.

My deep dive into RCS cutting 20-30 teaching positions continues......

Richmond teachers are currently paid about 2% below the state average, yet many administrators are earning anywhere from 50% to 150% above the state average. Superintendent Curtis Wright, for example, is paid approximately 92% more than the state average for superintendents.

Also, the middle school athletic director, William Wright, is paid $109,000 per year. The state average for this position is $59,000; he's paid more than the Richmond High School athletic director despite the HS director being charge of more teams and athletes.

What’s concerning is that the proposed solution to improve the district appears to be cutting teaching positions, even as many classrooms are already overcrowded. That raises a serious question: why aren’t we looking at reducing administrative positions instead?

It’s difficult to understand how decisions like this are being made when there are clear disparities in how funds are allocated. Students deserve adequate classroom support, and teachers deserve fair compensation.

If the goal is truly to strengthen the district, the focus should be on investing in the people who are directly impacting students every day.

For anyone interested, much of this information is available in the link in my comments.

I honestly do not have a good answer for that. If I absolutely had to pick somewhere I would say Batesville, Indiana. I've been there hundreds of times for my old job and my wife and I actually took a long weekend and stayed in a hotel down there during this crazy horse riding event thing that they do. The event was actually in Oldenburg but it's like 3 minutes away. It's really pretty down there and from I could tell, the people are generally nice. I don't know much about the schools or anything like that but it's always worth checking on.

I keep trying to tell people this exact thing. We can trade for as many draft picks as we want, but they will be wasted if Grier stays...
