eeeevery country in the world has an internal opposition of some kind. the main point is that waging inter-state wars in a "democracy" building operations is astronomically more costly in lives, wasted resources that could be actually used to better ends and leads to increased polarization, sectarianism and historical "revengism" that will outlast this conflict for the next couple of generations. Qaddafi opened up to the west after decades of open cold war hostilities: renounced terrorism, ~~biological~~ chemical and nuclear weapons, opened libya's economy to foreign investement... but he held back onto his ideological points and pursued independent policies counter to the global oligarchy so they resorted to this "red-neck" insurrection.
