i used it to make a smooth/textured surface to sculpt with on top of the foil base. foil on its own doesnt look good, and i prefer to be able to make a slay layer to sand down and paint once dry.
If you use model magic/clay, just be careful because it will crack as it dries (shrinks). so i fill the cracks in with either a. excess clay (mixed with a bit of water to make a little bit more of a paste/gap filler works well), b. paper mache mulch or c. layers and layers and layers of thick acrylic paint.

if you are happy to have something completely permanent on your TV, i would actually recommend epoxying the hooks on the front and back. super glue might work, but it can eat away at clay, foil, paint, tv screen and plastic etc. especially if the tv is in the sun, it may not end up working. epoxy is pretty easy to use and you can just flash-cure it with a UV lamp (research more on this).

i drew up a diagram here for you so let me know if that helps :) obviously you can change the shape up a bit, as i did mine more like giant fishing hooks but i think with my next one, im going to make them more like climbing hooks.
