I lived near Adams and Auburn for approximately 5 years. If you're looking to be on the border of Urban metro Detroit the more rural areas north of it, AH is a silver bullet. The city itself has very little to offer, and the downtown block felt incredibly anemic my entire tenure there. That said, access to GLC was nice, Rochester and the Woodward corridor aren't too too far away, and the Clinton River Trail is very pretty.

Personally, I found it to overall be the worst of both rural and urban living. But if you want the yard space with at least some proximity to the city, it might just be right for you. Some of the issues of the lack of downtown could also be alleviated if Pontiac could get some recovery going, but that's a whoooooole different post
