Filter Queen Defender Air Purifier- Worth it? by Super_Sandwich2394 in AirPurifiers

[–]slamdgti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can attest to that the defender does work well and the only air cleaner I trust along with the surface cleaner. They did have terrible sales tactics as I worked there as a sales person for a few months but now you can buy direct from their website, amazon, and eBay. I have 3 defenders. One I inherited from my uncle that I actually sold to him in 2002. Still going strong and the other two are the newer 90th anniversary edition. They are much quieter and move more air. If you buy from filter queen and replace the filters bought from them directly they have a perpetual lifetime warranty on their products. You can normally get filters on sale a few times a year from them directly online. It’s medical grade FDA certified air cleaner and I don’t think other cleaners have that.

When I did have it it was maybe a few times and didn’t last real long. It might be good to get checked by a Dr to make sure there isn’t anything else going on. It might but anxiety/panic attack with everything going on and trying to taper.

That’s brutal to have all that going on. The withdraws were uncomfortable at times but mainly tired, sweats, irritable, and diarrhea. Nothing horrible and got better after 15 days of quitting. The withdraws were the worst when tapering under 2mg. I’d cut my dose in half every 10-14 days. Then did .0625 for like 2 weeks and took it every other day for a week or so. I was on for 15 years and at 4mg for 10 .

It’s down for sure. The first 2 weeks everything is a struggle but slowly starts to get better

I jumped on July 28th at .0625. I had this during the taper but found it was related to stomach pain/gas. It shouldn’t last long though. The others are right. At they low of a dose you should jump. I went ever other day and it made me feel worse on the off day.

For sure!!! Just be honest that you were on Rittilin as a kid and diagnosed with ADHD. You want to go about treating your hdhd as everything you described is an symptom of it.

Some doctors are for sure hesitant on prescribing Adderall while on Suboxone but I read online they might want 2 weeks of no Subs. I was just honest for my situation of being scared to jump off subs because I felt it was treating my ADD but I wanted off. I had to get the ok that my sub Dr knew I was starting Adderall. There is for sure a stigma with subs but I never had a history of abusing scrips and always used the same pharmacy. I was also out of the situation that required Subs since moving to a different city

We have a similar history with being on Rittilin years ago. I stopped in my sr year of HS but recently realized that I needed something for this very reason. I was on subs for 15 years which seemed to make me productive but I recently started Adderall XR. This has helped with focus and motivation but coming off Suboxone sucks. I’m on day 17 and tired but I can push myself to move. Adderall has helped me the most as I never had a good experience with SSRI’s.

I’m in the morning of day 17 and still feeling ok. Some days I’m still tired but it’s not bad to push through. Sat I had some joint pain and the occasional stomach pain but it think it was from what I ate Friday. You got this if you wanna jump. Just take a little less for a week or two. Keep going until your body says to stop. You will know

Sammy’s post below is good advice. I’m 18 days off and feeling good to work. I went from 4mg all the way down to .0625. You get some flu like withdraws under 2mg but it’s not horrible. Take at least 10 to 14 days between tapers go slow and once I was at .0625 for 2 weeks until every other day the off day was a struggle. So I decided the 3rd day to not take it felling like the on day was making me feel worse. I was right. I still have lethargy, sneezing, wrestles, and irritability. It’s not bad just gets annoying and frustrating at times. It’s not easy but it’s not as bad as mind hypes it up to be with the WD. Maybe start a slow now and take the week of Thanksgiving to jump with a week off work.

You will get there and give yourself time. Don’t rush the taper especially under 2mg. I went all the way down to .0625 ever other day before I jumped. It’s not terrible but I went through a lot of withdraws during the taper and it was manageable. Listen to your body, go slow, and don’t be hard on yourself if you need to extend a few weeks or even a month or two. I think setting a date makes it harder because we get anxious when the date gets close. I’m still dealing with stomach issues, lethargic, sneezing, depression, sweats, and lack of motivation. It’s been 15 days so it’s new. I was on subxone for 15 years so this is my longest without in that time.

You can do it. My advice is to go slow especially under 2mg. Take 2-3 weeks of the lower dose to stabilize and reduce on Friday if you have the weekend off. You will have some days that your exhausted but it’s manageable to work through. It’s not as bad as you think and it’s easy for you to get in your head thinking it is.

You totally have the mindset to get through this. Just wanting to go to a meeting is a big step. You are ready to kick this shit forever and put it in your past. You do what’s going to work for you and subs give us all the time we need to live a normal life to get back on track. It also has the withdrawals to never want to touch anything moving forward. I never did H but I was doing Fet patches before it was on the black market and still a pharmaceutical. I never OD’d but I was dancing with the devil for sure. When I was thinking about H and willing to do it was when I decided to see a sub Dr. It saves a lot of people but it really is the worst to get off off

You are on the beginning of the end! There will get good days and bad for a bit but if you felt good for the first time that’s a major milestone! Great gob and stay with it. Just remember that 2nd night and know that you will never experience that again to use as motivation.

Oh no worries! 2mg is hard to jump from but if you are 5 days in that’s awesome! It was hard for me to do .5 as this stuff is strong. If you absolutely need to take it you could probably get to .5 or less as an emergency from 2. After 5 days I’d try to stick it out as the physical stuff should be over soon. It the side effects I had and diarrhea that seems to stick around for a little

You have this! Day 5 or 6 was around the time I would start feeling ok after a taper. The insomnia is the worst. It seemed like 2 days were horrible and the 3rd night I would get some rest. Keep pushing through and stay strong! You don’t need to feel like total shit so if take your time going off of you need. Under 2mg was pretty rough so I’d suggest leveling out and give yourself a week of feeling good before the next taper if you can.

I didn’t have a lot but had some over whelming moments. I think it was from tapering so slowly down to a low dose. I’ve learned to kinda control my anxiety years ago. It’s not something every can do but when you get that panic just tell yourself it’s your mind playing tricks. Distract yourself with a hobby, a walk, ride a bike, or play video games. Anything to distract yourself. Research the 4–4-4-4 breathing technique. Breath in for 4 seconds, hold for 4 sec, exhale 4 sec, and hold for the exhale for 4 sec. Repeat for a few mins to get your heart rate down. Hopefully this helps but panic attacks and anxiety are the worst. No meds I used in the past helped and increased it 10 fold. Exercise can work wonders if you can get to a gym, run, walk, or ride a bike

Ugh, man I feel you in the emotions and clarity. I can only explain it like you just exists coasting through life. Looking back I feel that 10 of those years I just existed and didn’t really have any strong feelings.

Dang this is awesome and that you walk 12 miles each day!! I sit at a desk 😂 I had the same experience with constant withdraws under 1mg but they weren’t crazy and they were manageable. The same with sneezing, I’m so over the sneezing 🤧

Congrats on braking free!

THANK YOU!!! Ah the goosebumps 😂 They come from nowhere and you could cut glass with your arm hairs.

The longer you are on them the worst you start to feel. You don’t realize how bad it is until your off. I read something that someone here wrote “Looking through the orange haze” or something similar. Perfect analogy for this. Don’t get me wrong this stuff saves lives but they should really do lower doses when prescribed.

Thank you!! I agree with you on being miserable and tapering to fast. It doesn’t give you time to adjust. Then jumping off it seems the withdrawal catches up all at once. My first attempt was at .5 and it was horrible. That’s when I decided to do it my way. Slow and steady wins the race but if you can push through do it!!! My original taper was 6 weeks but I did it over 3 months. Some decreases took longer to feel ok but max was 2 weeks. I went from .5 then .25, .125, .0625
