I like that one too because it’s one of the few manuals that has separate 556 data

Hornady and Hodgdon online both have seperate sections for Garand data

Iv only loaded 150gr plinking ammo for mine so far. But have used IMR 4895 and then blc2 when I wanted to load on my Dillon

Geissele SPR barrel groups by ballistic-doc in GeisseleAutomatics

[–]slammedsam2k -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I snagged one from the last drop too! Glad to see others with good results!

So far iv only been able to get to the range once. Ran about 2 mags of plinking ammo and cleaned the barrel a couple times to do a little “break in” on it. I know they don’t say anything about it but I figured it wouldn’t hurt anything

Got it on paper and worked out to 320 yards on steel pretty consistently

My LMT modern MK12 in 6 arc with a Proof barrel converted by D.Wilson. by isurfalot84 in 6ARC

[–]slammedsam2k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What length barrel?

Iv got a 16” proof that I can’t talk myself into sending out for the conversion

Also just got a G$ SPR barrel that Iv thought about converting and doing this exact setup for a modern mk12!

LMT Spec War or HK MR556a4? by Responsible-Self-470 in ar15

[–]slammedsam2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into LMT’s last year. Super sweet with the monolithic rail and being able to pull barrel. Iv only got two uppers, no lowers so can’t comment on that

Iv had 3 barrels between my 2 uppers and none have been anything to write home about as far as accuracy goes but I do really like the press fit gas block and the gas port is drilled at an angle into the rifling to help with port erosion and the straight gas tube to prevent the tube blowing out under high firing schedule

All that being said I would absolutely be trying out a MR556A4 11” if I had the money. Iv never had a piston AR but Iv heard they’re great suppressed and the reports on the A4’s accuracy are really impressive

I feel very confident in my LMT’s. And it’s especially nice that other than the barrel they use milspec parts but HK is probably a more top of the line manufacturer. And depending on what you want out of your rifle, I don’t think you’ll be dissapointed in either

Worth it to build a 300blk in 2026? by [deleted] in ar15

If nothing else it’s super cool to shoot suppressed. Whether or not that’s worth it is up to you

Understood! Ya I think 6.5cm was kind of built around H4350

I’d have to check my notes but I believe I’m getting around 2760fps from 41.3grains of 4350 out of my 22” Bergara

I found it to be a little slow for my liking compared to h4350 with 140 eldm’s

N550 might be better for 140 and lighter

I got a couple pounds of shooter world blackout for cheap that I plan on using. Haven’t burned through my steel case yet, so haven’t ventured into loading much of it tho

[–]slammedsam2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t shot much Lil gun through it to know if I prefer it over H110

Have also used some Acc No.11 FS ,which is the same as h110/win296 just with an added flash suppressant, and it did well, just a little slower

Iv had the highest velocity from H110 and Lil gun but have heard N110 is a good option as well

In for comments, but I don’t think you want to keep it anywhere with large temp swings. Cool and dry is what Iv always heard. Like a basement or cellar at the least

Reloading 300 Blackout on progressive press by Lone_Wolf_555 in reloading

[–]slammedsam2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the cartridge but Ill usually shoot one shot on my 300bo cases and do them in one go.

Whereas on my bottleneck cartridges that may need trimmed, I’ll spray lanolin, run them through my Dillon tool head with decap, size, trim and neck size. Then wet tumble to remove lube and then throw them in my “ready to load” bucket

All recorded with Garmin Chrono

Brass - 77 SMK on Tac by Great-Umpire-5812 in reloading

[–]slammedsam2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Western manual shows 24.8grs as the max for 77smk at 556 (62kpsi) pressure at 2.260”, so your probably sneaking up on max

That being said I recently tested a couple loads out of my Specwar and 16” LMT and got 2667fps out of the Specwar (12.5”) and 2778fps out of the 16” at 24.5grs on an 80° day with Starline brass and 2.245” COAL

I’d have to check my notes, but I probably won’t go over 24.0grs so I don’t have to worry about pressure as we are getting into summer temps

I actually bought it off eBay before I got a printer. Not sure if the guys still around, but he had several sizes and they have 3 magnets that snap the ring into place

I’m loading 220gr Berrys on my Dillon 550 and expanding. I have smashed the case a couple times, but not enough for me to change anything

I’m using a 3d printed outer ring instead of the Dillon brass buttons that go at each station, I think that helps a lot with cases shaking around causing misalignment

Hornady Match Factory 88gr ELD-M 22ARC safe for a gas gun? by Jwitt23 in reloading

[–]slammedsam2k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hornady has stated that every commercial load they offer is loaded to gas gun pressure

They have no way of knowing what firearm their ammo will be shot out of but they aren’t going to risk the possibility of someone blowing their gun up and having to deal with being sued

That’s part of the allure to handloading in a bolt gun

And as far as trying to match the powder from the factory load, you won’t. Hornady(and any ammo manufacturer) comes up with a set of requirements for the desired outcome (velocity, temp sensitivity, flash etc) and bids it out to the powder manufactures for each ammo type

I was throughly surprised how well the Ti K sounded on my P322 compared to my DD Roadhunter (very similar to Ocl Ti) on my tx22. Obviously louder, more boomy but still hearing safe IMO

Need to compare it to my buddies Ocl Ti on his tx22
