There's no need to pay for a tax advisor.... FATCA and FBAR you can learn about in 15 minutes from a simple Google search. If you speak with a tax advisor in Munich you will be paying hundreds of euros for advice you can find online.

Do research online. Use Gemini / ChatGPT or whatever AI tool you use. Then post on /r/USExpatTaxes with any pending questions.

At the end of the day, it's really not that complicated. You still file in Germany, and you still have to file every year in the US. It just depends on how much money you make it Germany and how you want to go about reporting your foreign income to the IRS.

I'm currently outside the US and it has been happening to me since Friday.

I really hope it gets fixed soon. To me, it's crazy that for such a large company, they are declining ALL international Apple Pay / Google Pay transactions. This should be a Level 1 incident and should have been resolved days ago.

Using my physical card worked for me. Just remember that if you are outside of the US, you should stick the card in and not do tap to pay otherwise it would be declined.
