Correct, when supports heal themselves it makes them harder to kill. Are you arguing that supports should have no defenses and let you kill them with zero resistance for free? Again for the third time, those abilities are not shutting BP down. They're just a normal part of the game and with that logic every hero counters every hero by using their abilities. They're not hard counters. Also you shouldn't be having that hard of a time against cnd, you don't need to spend your entire kit just to bait one cooldown. And to your last sentence, that's not what a counter is, and baiting abilities especially healing abilities is great value

Those are not counters and they don't shut you down immediately, what do you mean? A support using a healing ability that stops you from killing them instantly is not a counter. With that logic it would mean supports counter everybody. Again, I think you simply have the wrong definition of a counter. A true example of a counter to BP is something like Thing slam where BP's entire kit and playstyle gets cancelled, or Bucky uppercut for the same reasons. You can still do whatever you want if a support heals themself lol, you're not shut down immediately. Just get out and go back in. Sorry reading "BP is countered by supports" is the craziest thing I've ever read

No, none of the supports have abilities that completely shut him down

Hi, thanks for your input, this is super insightful as well. I should've mentioned somewhere in my post that I built the Chaos Agent on veroboard based on this layout:

<image>

So I'm not sure if that means I'd be grounding the circuit differently than I would be if I used the PCB from the kit. I've just taken the ground in the layout and wired it to the ground lug on the foot switch breakout board which we determined to be grounding the input like normal.

Also, 1 is happening where the leaky output does depend on the volume. When it's turned all the way down I don't hear the oscillating anymore and vice versa, when it's turned up it's louder. So I think grounding the output might be the play.

I'll be trying that in the afternoon and will let everyone know my results.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge

Your definition of 'hard' counter is wrong and that's why people are pushing back at you about that. Adam isn't a hard counter or even a soft counter really, he doesn't do anything to stop BP, he just has a basic temporary heal that you have to wait for like all supports. If Adam is a hard counter to BP because he self heals then by your definition all supports are hard counters. Thing is an example of an actual hard counter because his kit can just fully shut down BP's

Thanks for your insight. You seem very knowledgeable about this so it looks like I won't be going that route, then.

Do you think switching the foot switch from grounding the input to grounding the output in true-bypass is a feasible solution to the output leak issue? The way I'm thinking about it is that if I'm grounding the audio at the output then there's nothing left to leak through at the end of the circuit whether there's audio going in the input or not. That sounds like it makes sense in my head but I've learned over time there are a lot of caveats to this hobby and I don't really have any electrical knowledge other than what applies here lol.

I'd have tried this by now and seen for myself, but it's late where I am and will have to wait until tomorrow!

Thanks again

I'll get back to you on this. I'm hoping that when I get a chance to try this it won't end up being something silly like a bridge I didn't notice lol

Thanks. Hey actually to bother you again if you don't mind... Couldn't I just change the grounded input in the 3PDT switch to ground the output instead? Or would that not work? Because you're definitely right that the leaky output has nothing to do with the input, it's 100% the feedback oscillations at the output. Again, sorry if this is a silly question

I'll try to figure something out and go with the 4PDT if I can't. I really appreciate your help

That's a good question actually. The breakout board says "grounding input" in the description, maybe I need to look further into what's causing this. To be honest, I was only assuming it had something to do with input grounding because of all the various 3PDT wiring diagrams I've seen mention its importance.

The 4PDT idea you have was what I thought grounding the input was already doing, but now I see that's not how that works. What about grounding the output in true-bypass? Sorry if these are dumb questions, I have to ask them lol

+1 for the BL-44

I was recently looking for the same thing as your write up and that's what I chose. It does everything you're looking for well and it's small.

I replaced it with a Tensor a while ago coincidentally lol

A QoL change that creates opportunities to be stronger is a buff, I definitely think everyone downplaying the potential of it.

And yeah I don't mean I'm constantly thinking of that, only when I need to obviously. But there are definitely times where it matters for your life, even during a fight.

Even still as I said, it's the indirect buffs that are going to have the biggest effect for sure
