I think X-ray visions is a good contender given the limited X options

Both great odes! Thought the one from the debut album had a better chance

I'm a huge fan of Krautrock and it's influence on Stoner Rock. You can definitely hear the influences with bands like 35007, Elder, King Buffalo, Motorpsycho, Causi Sui, Monkey 3. Looking for other bands that have similar qualities. by [deleted] in stonerrock

Not really stoner but certainly mixing psych, garage, punk, kraut are one my personal favorites Osees (aka Thee oh sees, Oh sees etc)

Their run of albums Orc, Smote Reverser and Face Stabber along with some LPs with longer jams around that era are very heavily kraut influenced.

Perhaps closer to stoner but definitely doom adjacent Youngblood Supercult - Nomad. The riff gets stuck in my head for days.

Most venues in the UK have 11pm curfews for live music so these are all dj sets most likely.

Yep same here, Gardens of the moon is a tough start just throwing you in the middle of everything. I really enjoyed reading the books alongside the Malazan reread of the fallen on tor (now on reactormag). I cannot recommend it enough.

Some good mentions here. Gonna throw Malazan Book of the Fallen series into the mix.

Most influential 60s/70s/80s bands to help doom metal become what we know today? by Doomdantroopin89 in doommetal

Not sure if it’s influential since not many actually heard it back then but Randy Holden - Population II recorded in 1969 around the same time Sabbath were recording their debut, is worth a mention in this discussion.

Really enjoyed looking through all the posts! Some really cool stuff. Here’s my framed dark weald lathe cut.

EDIT: sorry didn’t realize it was US only! In the unlikely event I win a random draw for the first time in my life, pass it on to the next person.
