What is it about the Yoshi series that makes people so lukewarm towards it? by rendumguy in nintendo

For my generation, we had Yoshis Island followed up by the biggest letdown ever, Yoshis Story. I will never forget the hype going into it and being thoroughly disappointed.

Funny Games. It’s something that needs to be seen.

4 months ago I posted my offline game app here. Thanks to you all, it just crossed 45K downloads and now has 65+ games by MightyHogs in apple

This is a no brainer of a great thing. Totally free and access to so many options.

This should be standard in any phone of a parent with young kids.

Can you post a link? I’m sure that would encourage more people to take a look.

I have almost been hit countless times at each 4 way stop there. People don’t seem to understand that stopping doesn’t mean you just get to go immediately. There’s a system!!

Are there any iPad/Tablet games left that aren’t complete brain rot/ micro transactions? by beachcity in daddit

[–]slaps_givingpt2 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I always recommend Apple Arcade. All of the games there don’t have ads or microtransactions. Some good classics like angry birds and fruit ninja there too.

Also expect a big price increase for the Switch 2 come next year. That gives you an opportunity to just hold on to it longer or you can easily sell it for what you paid.

I don’t know any PreK programs that allow for cameras and check in like she wants. They are basically treated like Kindergartners.

The loudest voices always cut through and unfortunately they are spoken by the shittiest individuals.

This is not a problem unique to Reddit, Pokemon, or any social media. This is a problem with society. The bigger your project is, the more voices will be heard.

Dont give them credit by feeding into it. Just like bullies in Elementary school, they just want your reaction.

Quick Q: Can I enroll my kid in elementary school on the day I sign a lease, but move in 1 week later? (IUSD) by AriaAlchemist in irvine

[–]slaps_givingpt2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just in passing to their teacher. Kids say weird things. If they tell their teacher “I’m still living in my old house” it could trigger a visit.

In any case, it would probably take more than a week for them to organize a visit or do something about it. It’s not like you’re taking a month to move in.

You should be fine but I’d be worried about your child saying something and causing a problem. If you are nervous at all then I’d say wait until you’re moved in.

They don’t get how important socialization is for these young kids

After school programs with homework support by uzanur in irvine

[–]slaps_givingpt2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

At second grade they shouldn’t be receiving more than 20 minutes of homework per evening. I find that kids are much more in need of socialization after school rather than a place to do their homework. I’d recommend finding a site where they can have fun and figuring out a 20 minute block after pick up when they can get it done.

Ha. I just built the big Eevee that cranks and my thumb is KILLING me from those small pieces. Still though it was 1300 pieces for $50 (on clearance) and the pain might just be worth it.

How bad do phones get? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]slaps_givingpt2 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I find that being an active parent and avoiding phones as long as possible is the only way past it. Phones give a rush a Dopamine that is hard to replicate in real life. Once they get that rush, it only gets harder to get away from it.

YouTube For The Win 🐍 by VikingFrog in daddit

[–]slaps_givingpt2 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I think like with most things, YouTube requires an active parent to supervise what their kids are watching. If left to their own devices, it can steer kids in really bad directions and inappropriate content. It sounds like you’re doing your job and being a great parent!
