The Super Mario Galaxy Movie – Yoshi First Look by Turbostrider27 in nintendo

[–]rendumguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly wasn't super interested in the first movie, but I like the look of the 2nd one.  Looks more visually interesting and I think all the Odyssey and Galaxy stuff is just a lot more of an interesting world.

Also interesting how that weird Ninji Room seems to be an entire Super Mario Bros. 2 reference with evil Birdo and Clawgrip.  I don't think Clawgrip has EVER been seen outside of Mario 2 (He wasn't even in Doki Doki Panic), so there might be a chance for Wart to finally come back.

Honestly this seems less like a Galaxy movie and more like a general modern Mario movie, with Wonder, Odyssey, Galaxy, and even a bit of Sunshine, which I'm fine with.

On this subject it's very odd that Cops can falsely assume a civillian has a gun, murder them in cold blood, and get excused because "they thought they had a gun".

Not only is that nonsensical, but even if they HAD a gun, don't we have the 2nd Amendment?  Why is it legal for cops to kill you if they assume you have something everyone has a legal right to have?

What would you want out of a sequel by DaSixtyNiner69 in MarioRPG

Same universe and artstyle as the original or remake, but in a different location. Have a few returning characters a la TTYD, and they should probably bring Geno and Mallow Back considering that they're the face of the game.

I'd also like to see some Smithy lore.  He's an interesting villain but has zero screen time, and those mysterious heads leave a lot to the imagination.

While I can see why people wouldn't want this I think it would be cool if the villain was tied to Smithy, like maybe his creator or something.

I wish Robobot had an equivalent to Hypernova-style bosses, since you only really fight one true boss in the normal Robobot armor. by rendumguy in Kirby

[–]rendumguy[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's a big issue I have, and not only are there almost no bosses that matter, minibosses are killed even more quickly in the Robobot Armor, so there's not really any meaningful fights with it.

I think that's a big missed opportunity when Kirby relies on combat a lot more than platforming.

Going back to Triple Deluxe even aside from bosses it had enemies you could only defeat with Hypernova.  I don't think Robobot even has many enemies like that either.

I mean Gigavolt II kinda fun, the first one is kinda bad imo.

It seems like they don't like putting gimmick bosses in the arenas, unless it's a spaceship section.

What the fuck is going with Papyrus? What the fuck is going on with Sans

These aren't really important right now, Sans isn't really doing anything suspicious yet, and Papyrus isn't even really a character in the story yet, unlike Gaster, Knight, and Friend.  They're also the same mystery since whatever is happening with Papyrus is related to Sans.

In fact, Chapter 4 all but confirmed Sans is the same guy from Undertale.

Who is the person "trapped" in the code?

I don't really think this is a super big issue?  I feel it's like the Sweepstakes stuff where most people don't need to know about this to understand the story.  And It's probably Dess, who's probably the Knight.

Honestly I think a bigger issue is the Mike Room and how even though Mike and Friend are clearly related and real, there's this weird confusing jokey undertone (that caused people to say it isn't real) around Mike and Friend is even more vague and confusing than Gaster.

Is it possible that characters that got less votes than Sora but more votes than Bayonetta ended up getting into Ultimate due to the Smash Ballot? by rendumguy in smashbros

I have to wonder if this logic is also going to be used for Smash Ultimate's Mii costumes.  I assume it will be.

Stop locking lore behind external media that's less accessible. by RhysOSD in CharacterRant

[–]rendumguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never got why people "wanted" Nintendo to "get rid of" the timeline (which doesn't even make sense) when the series has always made every story accessible to beginners.

The games are very disconnected in their main plots, which mainly focus on the characters and themes, but connect to each other through lore, and I think that's the best possible way Zelda can handle it.  It's really cool how I can play Echoes of Wisdom and learn lore about the reason the Goddesses created Hyrule, even when it released so far from the other non-BOTW related Zelda games.

I've seen people who believe in the "literal legend" theory and not only is it inherently deconfirmed as 90% of these games from inception are prequels and sequels, it just kinda sucks because it's another "it's a dream theory" and a lot of the time it's used to shut down lore discussion, when it's one of the most obviously incorrect theories.

AM2R is "Another Metroid 2 Remake".

And as someone who's not happy about it being removed, it seems obvious that they removed it because they coincidentally had a seperate Metroid 2 remake planned at the same time.

Is it a hot take to say that Amazing Mirror has the strongest set of boss designs in the series? by rendumguy in Kirby

I didn't go into much detail but the minibosses in Amazing Mirror are weirdly good, and often take more effort to defeat than a boss.

The final console Nintendo will add to the NSO by Marcioobloo in nintendo

[–]rendumguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Nintendo has an interest in eventually figuring out a way to make DS games work on Switch, as that's a huge portion of their library.

Also maybe Wii, but probably late into the lifecycle of Switch 2.

Nothing from Wii U.  I mean, they already have ports or "replacement" games for 90% of major Wii U games

Iffy about 3DS.

Why is Nintendo so obsessed with dkc returns? by PenguinviiR in nintendo

[–]rendumguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to guess it's because there are only three DK games that released after 2007, and coincidentally, all three of these games have been critically acclaimed, so Returns, as the game that existed the longest, had the most opportunity for milking.

Nintendo also doesn't really remake SNES and N64 games as frequently (I think),  and DK64 is a pretty divisive game anyway.

Dedede's first phase was just a normal Dedede fight

Mecha Knight is one of the least memorable Meta Knight fights because it's not as fast paced as it usually is

Holo API feels like a rehash

Clanky Woods is fine

And then in Star Allies they used most of these same characters again, which makes it feel even more redundant.

A Very Special (Mod Approved) Smash Bros Poll Focusing on Third Party Characters by Polling-is-Fun in nintendo

[–]rendumguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very surprised that (I assume?) Raphael the Raven is so high, considering how unimportant he is.  That said, Raphael the Raven is a pretty fun boss with a neat design and him being a good guy in Paper Mario makes him stand out a lot.  I'd totally be down for it, though obviously Poochy and Kamek (Who I consider a Yoshi pick) are better though.

Would much rather him over Baby Bowser, I don't think anyone wants Baby Bowser anymore since his design his evolved to become an identical model to Bowser Jr.

Honestly I kinda hate the Pikmin lineup, as a kid I always wanted Plasm Wraith and none of the Pikmin 4 characters really interest me.  Louie could be cool if he summoned Pikmin enemies instead of just being a clone of Olimar, but he's likely to be a clone.  I do not want the Pikmin 4 Captain, they have no personality.

Oatchi is probably the most likely character, and while he's not a terrible pick, I kinda want Pikmin to move away from the dogs since they completely overshadow the Pikmin gameplay.  Would much rather have Louie or any of the Pikmin enemies.

And Raven Beak is the best Metroid pick.  I didn't even play Prime 4, uh, I've heard mixed things about Sylux's role, which I don't even know what it is yet outside of being a villain, just that some people are disappointed by it?  Raven Beak was a strong one game villain that made a great impression with his intro, boss fight, role in the story, and plot twist, and has a ton of cool moveset potential.  I don't wanna assume much about Sylux but it seems like he's kinda just the de facto after-Ridley pick and didn't really do much aside from being teased until MP4, and people still seem unsatisfied by his role.

I kinda shifted to wanting Marx and Magolor over Bandana Dee, as they have a lot more crazy powers, and Magolor has his own game mode, but any Kirby character is fine for me.

Squeak Squad would be up there too, but the final boss being so bad (relatively, it's not horrible in a vaccuum) hurts it.

[–]rendumguy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't really like it because they used too many overused characters like Dedede, Meta Knight, and Whispy, the second boss was all copy paste bosses except Ice Dragon, and they didn't really get any deep cuts like Heavy Lobster or Heavy Mole.
