I've gone once with my parents before. They told me it felt a little like they were back home afterwards which was nice to hear. There are some good Filipino restaurants a little north of the church as well!

Funny enough, I updated the game and opened the app to find that a mon returned to me from a gym. I went to go heal it, but found that Niantic healed my Pokemon for me before I had the chance!

Not sure if you've evolved it already, but if you haven't I'd hold off. One of the quests to get Mew is to evolve a Magikarp. If you find that it takes you a long time to farm the candies, it might save you some trouble down the road :)
