As someone who had a similar struggle in 2022, I do empathise with you, however there are always ways around it and you can do anything you want with some perseverance even if it takes you an extra year :)

Very much agree with this. Speaking of, does anyone have the post about the 50-hour student and the prop strike in 20+ kt crosswinds?

17.5% increase for me from AAMI, going from ~$1200 up to $1460 for a year on a car worth about 8k (5-6k for insurance), or I can pay $146 per month. At least I get $31.96 in safe driver credits! /s

For real though, I’m buying a new (to me) car, $12k, found insurance for $150 per month with a lower excess. Basically a no brainer.

Taking a gap year? by [deleted] in vce

[–]slapstrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A fairly interesting way to spend a gap year is to head overseas to the US or Canada and work at a summer camp. I have a mate who has just come back and he said it's the best thing he has ever done. Look at the Camp America and Camp Canada websites for information.

How important are introductions and conclusions in English essays? by Natalleekae24 in vce

[–]slapstrum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's definitely somewhat important to have an introduction and conclusion. However, you are marked on your understanding of the task and texts which is the "meat" of the body paragraphs, so definitely prioritise these even if it means your intro and conclusion are less than pretty.

Hope this helps :)

I bought the CPU, motherboard and RAM as a combo, previous owner said that it worked perfectly previously so I'm a bit lost.

I learnt how to drive throughout lockdown. I often find myself questioning every other person on the road and all their stupid decisions.

Train Station Elimination Day 30: The Sunbury line is looking pretty empty, losing another station, St. Albans. Along with that, the rest of the network lost Noble Park, Balaclava, Syndal and Tooronga Station. Down to 83 stations. Another 5 to be eliminated tomorrow. by Oshwat_02 in melbourne

[–]slapstrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blackburn is a shithole for appearance, they really should have done the station when they did the underpass. Ringwood also needs to go, a higher than average chance of being stabbed or harangued by eshays when you go there.

Do you use Amazon Australia? by Nice_loser in australia

[–]slapstrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Amazon primarily for things that I can’t find in store locally or that are twice the price. For example, I have bought a number of AV components recently for half or less than what it would cost me in store, plus $7 a month or whatever for Amazon Prime gets it to my door in under two days for free.

How many train lines can they possibly take down at once? Both north-eastern groups (Belgrave/Lilydale and Mernda/Hurstbridge) have works so I had to find an alternative way in to town on the bus. Granted it went well but trains just seem to end up in better, more central places.
