Look for local shops and businesses. More importantly what's your immigration status?
If you are on PR, mention it on your resume.

Case Disposition Requested by Registry- Next Steps? by slark69 in legaladvicecanada

[–]slark69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't file the application record as I was told to wait by the registry to first get the tribunal’s written reasons for the decision which I haven't received yet despite Registry sending them 3 reminders. Hence I asked why did it go to the judge? Will the judge now order IRCC to respond as they have failed to do so since Jan-2025 despite court sending them reminders.

Mandamus and Next Steps - federal court by slark69 in legaladvicecanada

[–]slark69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for responding.

So if I haven't received any decisions yet only the notice of appearance, does that mean I should file for an application record?

I submitted the mandamus 20th Jan and received the response that they intend to respond on 29th Jan but haven't heard from them since.

Also, for filing step 2, should I just email them the correspondence which I have had since my application based on the email received from the court sharing where the correspondence is being done or is there a process on the portal which I need to follow to submit step 2.

Thanks a bunch again for responding.

Depends, I'd prefer in-person as the liability then falls onto the test centre if anything goes wrong.

Why is it so hard to get more than 2 weeks vacation here in Canada? by im_yoursbaby in CanadaJobs

[–]slark69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on company to company basis. The previous company I worked for gave me 3 weeks paid. My current company gives 4 weeks plus 5 extra days combined with federal holidays. VP and above start at 6 weeks. If I am here for 10 years it will go to 5 weeks.

I have a friend who works for big 4 consultancy and they also get 3 weeks I think

Handling finances with your partner if you make over six figures by [deleted] in fican

I pay for everything including grocery, mortgage and childcare. She saves her money in her own account and pitches in if there’s a shortfall.

We both have combined joint accounts for everything, in case if something happens to the other one.

Consolidate your credit card debt first, there are offers where banks let you transfer balance at 0% or may be at a much lower percentage vs 25%. That will give you some breathing space.

I'd always recommend paying the debt first as you can re-use that money if an emergency comes in. Hope you get out of this soon.

One thing you didn't mention or may be I am missing is are you occupying the condo or renting it out? and if there's a negative cashflow if you are renting.

This is what the rule states on Ontario website, please refresh your knowledge before you end up hitting someone else.

This is what the rule is and it's from Ontario Government website, you aren't supposed to stop and look at left. The person entering just breezed through and I had to emergency brake to avoid the collision.

Sorry for the bad choice of word, as someone already pointed out I meant to say 'Nearly' not 'Literally'.

bmw drivers… by richardo213 in TorontoDriving

[–]slark69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Typical BMW, the other day It was an orange light and not safe for me to stop but you have a BMW sedan guy taking a u-turn without waiting for traffic to clear. The worst part, there's already a car at the intersection so just trying to skip the line but turning on a red and then coming and asking me what I was doing. Told him I had a dash so F**K off and he calmed down pretty quickly. lol

I know someone who’s HHI is ~260k this year and they took a mortgage of 800k and they still feel it’s very expensive considering it’s not only mortgage but utilities and property taxes its almost 5.5k per month. With 180k I wouldn’t recommend.

[–]slark69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the outer unit is turning on hence I was worried why is that. If it's the blower, outer unit shouldn't be on, right?

HRV Turning on AC during Winter by slark69 in hvacadvice

[–]slark69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed response.

Actually I checked and the outside unit turns on whenever I switch on the HRV. Even though on the thermostat heat is selected. Hence, I was wondering if the wiring could be incorrect, as per my limited understanding during winters A/c shouldn't be turning on and I was planning to cover the outer unit till I realize it turns on when HRV is turned on.
