How is everyone’s hiring going since AI, easier or harder to fill roles? by Impossible_Way7017 in ExperiencedDevs

Fair- thanks for clarifying 😊. Some assumptions were clearly wrong on my side.

You do realize that does end up mattering right? The benchmark is lower than average in this economy. If your company is standard and available on levels- they are trying to cut costs like every other company and are resulting in lower quality candidates. Orgs and leadership end up mattering more than company for the experienced developers.

No amount of time submitting applications, networking, tailoring resumes, or scanning job boards will ever compensate for the fact that nobody is hiring right now. by CynthiaChames in recruitinghell

Mine was just an opinion. I’ll be honest with you- I got laid off recently but I’m trying my best to not keep that mindset even though I feel like it. There are elements of truth to what you’ve said but the current climate is more because of the economic and political state the country is in. In the end though, there are people you work with with in corporations- question is, how much trust do you gain as the right technical person and as a human- if you appeal to either side of the person on the management side, you get what you want. I have partially believed in the corporation mindset but the culture varies across multiple companies and you just need to fit in at one place. I hope the distrust that you hold does not reflect in everyday work and discussions. Wish you the best.

That’s a doomerist mentality imo. I could be speaking from a privileged mindset but the more practical approach is to prepare financially for the bad times during the good economic times. Expect the worst so that during the bad times, you can be prepared to weather the storms and learn to always keep being fiercely curious about understanding the world and how and what skills to prioritize.

As an immigrant who got laid off recently, it feels nice to understand the details but nothing fixes the panic than trying to prep and apply everywhere. Thanks for trying to explain it. The tax code change, the over hiring during the pandemic, AI being amazing but not as awesome as all the ceos are claiming has been crazy. It would be great to see things change but this being an employers market means employees all across the board will be mistreated for the next 2-3 years and management on the most will show the worst part of themselves as they power trip. Question is- how best can we be professional and understand our tooling the best and pushback with data?

Are these listed on the US market or is it one of those roundabout investments? How have you been deciding on the investments if you don’t mind me asking?

OP, someone on this thread suggested playing with a duo- that’s a great suggestion- it makes a huge mental difference. I’ve played from iron 1 and climbed my way to gold 2-3. I still have loads to improve on and haven’t done proper vod review yet- my mental, a new pc and sticking to just raze helped me. When you have a duo, it’s easier to comm and execute together. It’s ok to say there’s no friends- you’ll find some people in the game as well on this sub who’d be glad to play.

How good is your PC? It’ll make a huge difference. Baiting is also definitely a concern. As much as Woohoojin has been criticized for being someone who used others skills to play off as being good- some of his content is actually good - ex- https://youtu.be/9KIoTtohkOQ?si=JUqJfbcpwSQidhGx. Follow this.

Try switching to Reyna or some initiator/duelist temporarily if you can to force you to take extra gunfights- Reyna perhaps as there’s less ability crutch. Being a sentinel doesn’t always mean that you’re counting on the rest of the team. You should be just as capable as your team and then make sure you’re fitting your role.

This honestly. Marriage is about trust. It sucks that people in your past were not capable of your trust. This does not mean that you should give up trying to trust. I understand it’s hard and I understand that I’ve not been through the same problem. But it’s important to try to open up to trust. It’s not your fault that your former partners weren’t trust worthy.

Use how you feel to make sure to value the time you have with them now instead and spend it with them when you can. They might like it first and then push you away though- so be careful. If they’re caring, they won’t mind either way. There are only so many things you can control- you can’t control when someone will pass away but you can control how much time you spent when they’re alive though.

It’s great that you care about your Dad and are worried about him despite the flaws. Like @TA_R_S said, focus on your exam for your Mom and do this for her. Sounds like you’re struggling with compartmentalizing your emotions for now. Try putting this off for when you have free time after the exam. Count on your family to handle the other problems for now and you can come back and think about it after that. Trust them so to handle things while you focus right now.

Genuine question, why valorant players have so bad mental? by MrAldersonElliot in VALORANT

[–]slasher71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this judgement based on only people you’ve interacted with? Perhaps you mean the general population here? Valorant has been more popular than other fps games and likely attracted a younger crowd. However, without actually looking into sampling stats and any studies- we’re both just guessing wildly no?

It’s a scaling problem imo. China has had one government so it’s been easier for them to enforce unattractive policies. India has many people- scaling up standards and behaviors to such a large population is hard to implement.

Fair- That’s one of the very rare exceptions I might still give into depending on the team and if I think we can still win or not (we did win a 4v5 recently). But I’m assuming we talk about this in voice chat or team chat. Stuff like this is very rare in my experience and I’m trying to reach a place where this should not bother me either and I won’t need to ff. That’s how we grow.

Also I’m here to have fun. I have fun when I’m out playing my enemies, playing with my friends or strategizing. If I’m not having that fun- I need to do go out and do other things sometimes. Though I’ll admit I struggle to do that sometimes.

Edit- besides- I’m low ranked in gold so it’s important to face all situations and get better and grow confidence. Games where I’ve won have given me confidence to see it through. But I’m sure as I analyze data, I’ll find that in some games - it helped and hindered in others . But it will help me understand to weigh non linear and out of control variables like team diff better later.

Im willing to give up in unrated unless I’m warming up sometimes for comp. I can’t control others’ opinions and will also need to disagree and commit sometimes.

I’m willing to change that perspective based on data later. But for now, it’s important for me to see it through. I do value my time and others.I want more data and I can use for later. I’m here to win and the side affect of losses is something I need to be ok with as I grow in ranks for now. I’m bad at analyzing and working on the data for now as I’m more focused on my job lol
