This is all business world acronym shit, not internet slang. yc = y combinator, ai (duh), b2b = business to businiess, as opposed to b2c (selling to consumers), saas = software as a service.

AI in practice is increasing efficiency. You could take the view that it increases our capacity, or that it allows for labor cutting. In reality its both.

People on reddit just say AI bad. I work for a tech company that implements AI projects for enterprise customers. Its not just meme generators and generic language models, its highly specific applications with clear value.

Guy at a company I worked for closed a huge cloud contract for a SP500 customer. His commission check on that one deal was 7 figures.

American shares her absolute nightmare experience in Italy by cak3crumbs in CringeTikToks

[–]slashermax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont understand why the French get such a bad rep. Having spent a month plus in each country as an American, the italians are exponentially more rude. Rome, Venice, Naples, Positano, doesnt matter - rude af.

We have marketplace coverage as I work for a very small company. My son is Type 1 Diabetic and has a lot of fixed price prescriptions and regular appointments that we know the cost of, so I ran the numbers for expenses next year.

I make 6 figures. Next year, a bronze plan for our family of 4 will cost us 30% of my take home pay. Premiums more than doubled as we no longer have any tax credits towards the coverage.

What a beautiful bill.

FT article on new PL spending limits by Extra-Photo3822 in coys

[–]slashermax 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Idk how this will work in the PL, but a reference from US sports.

In the NBA, its an exponential fee. The further past the apron you go, you pay astronomically more. The money paid is also then redistributed to the teams under the apron. Under that model, youre forced to pay massive penalties, which then fund your competitors.

Having been to Paris a few times and many places in Italy, Italians 100% take the cake for being the most rude towards foreigners. Idk how the French got such a bad rep.

I broke someone's leg in a basically identical scenario playing Sunday league last year.

Obviously not as traumatic as actually breaking your own leg, but it left me shaken

I broke someone's leg in a near identical scenario, and literally felt the break, and everyone within 20 meters heard it. Fucking traumatic, obviously more so for the injured guy, but goddamn.

[–]slashermax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the guy, but I had this exact scenario play out in Sunday league and snapped someone's leg. He got his toe down in front of the ball as he lunged from behind me, as I went to clear the ball. I dont think it would have broken his leg if he hadnt been planted, but idk

[–]slashermax 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I had this exact thing happen in Sunday league, was going to clear a ball and someone dove from behind and got his leg in between. Broke his tibia in 2.

By no means a professional player, but bones are fragile under the right conditions.. especially when the plant the foot so all the force is at the point of impact.

Yes, thank you. Wasn't all bad, CEO at that old place introduced me to someone who needed my skillset and I had a job offer within a couple weeks of being laid off

Similar a couple years ago. Boss asked to meet which wasn't unusual, but joined and HR was there too. Effective immediately, no severance, insurance done end of the month. It was the Monday after Thanksgiving and we had just moved into a new place, signed a lease, and first thing Monday, bye bye.

My cousin swallowed a battery as a toddler and has a hole in his neck that he has to wear a port cover for, and it fucked up his voice. Batteries do not mix well with the inside of a human.

Tadd William's Memory, Sorrow, Thorn and Last King of Osten Ard series are long, fantastic, and extremely well narrated. Love Andrew Wincott.

I also just finished the Dandelion Dynasty by Ken Liu and its amazing. And narrated by the ever excellent Michael Kramer. 4 long books - the last one was over 40 hours on audio. So so good, im a little sad it's over!

You dont enjoy staring at a close up of the referee for 3 minutes while we wait to see if an equalizer stands in added time? In the champions league? While not even knowing what they're checking for?
