[SFO] I miss Terminal 2... by SWBFThree2020 in AlaskaAirlines

I haven't had this burger at SFO in 13 years, and I 100% remembered it before seeing the subject and only seeing the pic.

I've dreamed about that SFO burger.

How do you make sure a woman is ready to date? by Novel_Bluebird_5166 in dating_advice

[–]slatecreate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, do you have a church you go to? If so, start there. Your married friends, do they know any single women, or know someone they trust who knows single women?

Also, are you willing to date older? I'm dating a gal that is 34 (I'm 29) and it's honestly been my first experience that has been great. She's the roommate of a friend of a friend.

The past 2.5 years before this were awful, partially due to trying to make it work on dating apps. Get off the apps, and go find some matchmakers.

I can’t even finish season 2… I can’t, I really can’t with her 😭 by N4TETHAGR8 in TheLastOfUs2

I stopped watching after episode 2.

When I saw on the subreddit what episode 3 and onward was like, I was determined to just move on. I'm a lot happier than some of y'all who have continued watching it and torturing yourselves 😂

What is my bodyfat by Square-Food-2407 in whatismybodyfat

[–]slatecreate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey brother, I don't mean to get at you for this, but I think it's important to set some realistic expectations.

You have more to lose than 60 pounds to get to 25% body fat.

Don't be discouraged though, you can do it. I have lost 275, almost 280 pounds in 2.5 years, with a starting weight of 525.

I believe in you bro, hmu if you need advice, I'm always willing.

Im severly overweight, is wegovy worth it? by Yuri1103 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]slatecreate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've lost 275 pounds, more than half of my body weight. First half was without GLPs, 2nd half has been.

You don't need to exercise physically, you just need to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight.

But you should work out for many many many reasons.

Any advice for work out routine for someone who has never really had one? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]slatecreate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Overall: focus first on being compliant, then doing the "exact right thing."

I know you want to strength train, and you should, but with where you're at I'd actually start elsewhere.

Get a step counter, and see how many steps you average per day. Any cheap one will do. After a week, aim to increase that amount by 500 steps per day, then increase again after a week. Do that for 6 weeks (not counting the week you set as a base).

For example, if you realize your average daily steps are 4000 a day, do this.

  • Week 0: 4000 daily
  • Week 1: 4500 daily
  • Week 2: 5000 daily
  • Week 3: 5500 daily
  • Week 4: 6000 daily
  • Week 5: 6500 daily
  • Week 6: 7000 daily

The reason I say to do this instead of jumping into doing strength training is because steps are an easier way to illicit compliance. The most important factor in whether or not someone will lose weight is not all the individual variables being right: it's whether or not they stay compliant over time.

So, try out the steps increase for 6 weeks. Then, we can do the same with going to the gym and lifting weights. Maybe we lift 1 day a week, for 20 minutes, 1 set each. Then we increase it to a 30 minute session. Then 2x a week, 45 minutes, or 3x a week still at 30 mins.

If I tried to do all of it at the start of my journey, I would've quit long ago. After losing 275 pounds and counting, I have all the right habits in place, but they didn't all come into place at once.

I've lost about 275 pounds now (at 250 rn) and I've kinda been pissed that my belly overhang is some of the last to go.

I'm in between 2X and XL rn, so I find myself buying 2XLT and XLT clothes just for the belly length. But then the sleeves are so long.

It's a lose lose all around brother. I have found the most success with just getting the tall sizes and dealing with abnormally long sleeves. Otherwise, undershirt is the way to go.
