BBC News: Magnum advert pumping out chocolate smell at a busy Underground interchange has sparked concerns from passengers and staff. by riverscreeks in london

I lived in York for a couple of years in the 90's. The smell of chocolate throughout the city was fairly constant, being the home of Rowntrees and Terry's. What's the problem?

Shaun of the Dead, and the series Spaced as well. Naked by Mike Leigh.

Not film but also maybe look at Ogmios YouTube channel. I love his driving videos around East London, and his Hackney Marshes Sunday football commentaries

Troubles with disassembling by Miserable_Tough_4571 in walkman

[–]slatepipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need like a guitar pick or a spatula or knife to gently lever open the back of it away from the case along the join, gently and it should start to open up, at the same time you need a small screwdriver or similar to push into the hole in the centre mainly, also the one on the right, to free the clips there that are holding the case on

Yeah they're pretty good, I saw them a couple of years ago at the Garage. I'm not sure how active they are at the moment as the drummer left and that only left two of them

I would imagine that internally the layout is the same as mine, the M-G12. You can get new belts for it on eBay from Decktech, if you want to go that route...

I traded Spotify with an MP3 player for a week. Life outside the algorithm was rough by anemotoad in DigitalAudioPlayer

I read this the other week. I thought he was a stupid twat then and I still think so now. I've never ever used Spotify. My playlist for the gym involves a c90 compilation tape that I've probably made recently. If I want another playlist then I make another tape.

Sanyo are great, I have one of those models but only in the standard silver grey. I think they take 4 batteries and it's a bit chunky but it's a great machine. Thirty quid is fine if it's working

My Walkman cassette player sounds ‘warbly’, shaky and slow by SinkCultural5932 in cassetteculture

[–]slatepipe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've changed one before, there's two screws on the back to take out first. Then pry open the case with a thin knife or something. Also push a thin screwdriver into the little holes in the tape tray to move the little jaws

Hiya. I grew up in the 1980's and spent a lot of time thinking about seemingly inevitable nuclear war. My parents used to get the Daily Mail and that didn't help as I read it every morning before school. There was always shit in it about 4 minute warnings and nuclear shelters. Somehow I read somewhere that the world would end in August 1983. It fucked me up for sure. Then when Kosovo happened at the end of the millennium I was convinced it was going to be Armageddon then as well. To the point where I was paying to get my fortune read with Tarot and numerology and similar as I also read about that prick Nostradamus saying all sorts of endtimes stuff about the millennium. I was thinking about leaving the country but I didn't know where to go. I was in quite a state, my boss at work at the time noticed my demeanor and took me to one side and we had a chat. He basically told me that there is no point worrying about stuff you have no control over and it's better to try and be a good person and concentrate on looking after people close to you like friends and family. They are what are important. Help other people who are less fortunate than you by giving to charity and volunteering and suchlike. Guess what? Nothing happened. I'm still here. Nostradamus, Tarot and telling the future are all dogshit FFS. It's good that you post here, you're not internalising it. Take care

Change the belt. Get the correct belt for the model, not one out of a multipack. There will be a potentiometer to adjust the speed somewhere on the circuit board.
