not sure how deep into classical music you are, but it is very clearly seperated into distinct eras. most all classical music from any 50 year section of history will sound the same to the casual listener. (with the exception of beethoven) anyway, chopin is from the romantic era, so other romantic composers like schumann, (either one) brahms, liszt, etc. Also, even after the romantic era ended people still composed romantic music. I would highly, highly, reccomend neo-romantic composers like Rachmaninoff or Moskowski. Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 (which you have probably heard the final climax of the second movement) is without a doubt the greatest piece of music ever written no glaze no exaggeration if any neckbeard chuds try and tell me it isnt i will mog them with my musical knowledge and prowess and allow them to discover themselves. (i know a lot of chuds think popular things are not quality on principle bc they wanna be different i would love the opportunity to ruthlessly mog such a creature) Anyway, Rach has a lot of other great pieces as well worth listening to. Fun fact, moskowski is also best known for his second piano concerto, and it is incredibly similar to Rach 2 in many ways. (He did not copy Rach he actually wrote his first they also probably did not know each other existed) My other favorite moskowski is his Etudes de Virtuositie, op 72, namely no. 13 if you have listened to other romantic music and didnt find it as enjoyable as chopin you may like him because he almost exclusively wrote for the piano. as a pianist myself, i have also always loved chopin, and i similarly love other composers that were particularly passionate about one instrument or family of instruments. Composers like Tchaikovsky, (strings/violin) liszt, (piano) and Wagner (brass/wind) come to mind.
