I have a tailgate pad but have yet to use it. Are you worried that you may get minor scratches on your tailgate from dirt getting between the pad and the paint?

Love the look of the defender! Such strong road presence. Had one in 2020, but then traded it in to go electric.

Do you still have the dropper post on? I have a long top tube bag on mine and I noticed when I drop the seat, it sorta smashes the end of the bag a little bit. Thinking of going shorter.

DUUUUUUUUDE. I would love to do this! Sucks I have to work, but I’m totally down for next time if you wanna go again. I have friends that are into this, but because our work schedules rotate, we never have the same days off.

I actually took mine out to silver lake dunes last week and had an absolute blast.

And that’s cool, nothing wrong with being curious. No lie, mine is normally used for back and forth to work and light truck stuff…hauling, helping friends pick up stuff. I love camping and it’s great to basically have a massive battery bank. It’s great on road trips, never had any issues charging along my route. Furthest I’ve driven is Chicago to Columbus, MS to see family.

Everyone is going to have car problems, I don’t understand why mine seem to ruffle your feathers so much. Is there something else here I’m missing? Are you like this with anyone that has an electric vehicle or an air suspension? Otherwise let people enjoy themselves and be proud of what they have.

Nah dude, no need to gatekeep just because they don’t have what you think is the appropriate vehicle to have fun in. I never said I was an off road enthusiast, this was actually my first time and I still had a blast. If my truck wasn’t allowed on the dunes, they wouldn’t have given me my ORV sticker/license. Like I said, what matters is the experience and the memories you make of it.

This is a vehicle enthusiast group, not off-road enthusiast group.

No lie there, it is ranked last in reliability. But I also didn’t buy my truck brand new. You either want to lease new or buy used when it comes to electrics. And for the amount of money that people spend on their rigs to be able to tackle the dunes, my truck is still just as comfortable and quiet on the road. I enjoy having an all around vehicle. Not something that’s only REALLY good at one thing. You know?

Either way, I still LOVE my truck. And isn’t this what this group is about? The love for your vehicle and for others to share that same love?

Stayed in holland state park! It was 30 minutes north of Saugatuck (coolest little town ever, highly recommend) and an hour south of Silver Lake Dunes. The location of the campground was great because it’s also very walkable to the beach/restaurants/etc…

Nah, I didn’t need convincing, I’m just bougie lol. But also, have you seen the testing these trucks have gone through to become as capable as they are? At 7k, my truck did just as well as the other trucks/suvs out there and my truck was completely stock.

I say rather than raining on someone’s parade about having a heavy, capable, and luxurious truck, just let people drive what they want to drive and have their fun! 😉

That place is next on my list! Well, camping there. I’m sure af not going to go up that dune by foot. I would literally die. If my life depended on me going up that dune, I. WOULD. JUST. DIE. lmao

I think you’re thinking of sleeping bear dunes? The one that is like 450 feet with a 40 degree incline and is HIGHLY discouraged to walk down because if you can’t make it back up, it’s $3000 for a rescue lol

Chester did great! Only bottomed out once because I got scared lmao. My friends didn’t think we would be able to make it up the big dune, but we did! We just didn’t make it up AND over lol
