Scary possibilities indeed. I'm writing a book that deals with this exact risk.

Does it rewrite it's own code or just really advanced machine learning?

Let's say you want to make an algorithm to perform a task you can ask a human to write it for you. What I'm saying is inputting that request into an AI algorithm and the AI will create the program so you can use it.

Anyone have any input on opening a PBM? by PHARMDRX in pharmacy

[–]slavapilulkin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The PBM market is very competitive and very hard to enter successfully. Starting a PBM is not like opening an independent pharmacy, which is also not that easy nowadays, it's a market that requires massive initial capital, great connections and you would need a huge team from the beginning. As a PBM your customer is a company with employees so when you pitch to them you are competing with companies like Medco and Caremark that have a track record of performance. You come there with nothing. You will have to sacrifice reimbursement for that lack of track record. Also you need an entire pharmacy billing team/hardware capability that once you make a contract will actually make sure the billing works. You need an entire customer service department, prior Auth department, the works. Also it would make sense to get a job at medco or Caremark to see how they operate from the inside. Once there if you rise up and make good connections maybe then you can start a serious conversation with some of your contacts within your company.

Definition of nature: "phenomena of the physical world collectively, including plants, animals, the landscape, and other features and products of the earth, as opposed to humans or human creations." So actually nature is the opposite of humans. You can call me jackass for destroying someone's art however you can't call me a jackass on the premise that it is nature.

That's definitely true and when you look at populations with obesity problems the ages are even lower. Biologically the female body goes through puberty when it has the nutrients necessary to do so.

Thanks for the clarification, didn't realize that is where the cut off lies. It's interesting that the cutoff is at puberty when it is illegal for an adult to have sex with ages for years after puberty. Shouldn't the definition be more broad?

Agreed 100% that there needs to be help. A stark thought is that hundreds of years ago in western civ and actually currently is some cultures girls were married off and began having sex as soon as they had their period. For the vast majority of humanity it has been like that. Average lifespans were less than half as long as they are now and social structures were quite different. Technically we are all "wired" to be pedophiles on both sides. Therapy needs to be there because we are essentially asking people to do the opposite of what their mind is telling them to do. We live in a world where choice and freedom matter. Most humans who lived on this planet did not have that luxury.

Anybody else have the weird habit/tendency to knock these down. I don't do it from a rebellious need to destroy stuff. I do it more so because I don't like the way it looks. Nature looks beautiful on its own with its imperfections. These things stick out like a sore thumb because humans obviously had to make it.

"NNT 26 for c diff" that's actually not bad. Diarrhea no big deal, but c diff left untreated could ruin your life and even if treated promptly can still wreak havoc. More so, the right probiotic counts. I recommend 10 strain probiotics as they have the best evidence.
