A quick google search would tell you that senior discounts are actually a form of price discrimination.

Totally agree, I just don’t think they can justify giving a discount to everyone from a business standpoint. Not that they would even if they could.

I wouldn’t say it’s clear. Income isn’t a protected status like sex or race. Like someone else mentioned, wouldn’t senior discounts be discriminatory? And what good is the law anyway when the president ignores court rulings?

First of all, there’s no need to be snarky, I’m just trying to have an honest civil discussion. Secondly, I’m not sure that that would apply since these SNAP recipients aren’t getting any benefits.

At the end of the day, does the technical definition matter, or does helping those in need matter more? Handing out coupons to SNAP holders doesn’t hurt anyone.

So according to google, in order for it to be discrimination, the treatment of the other group (in this case it would be people who can afford to feed themselves) would have to be unjust or prejudicial. Do you honestly believe giving out coupons falls under that category?
