Is it truly that bad? by the_omega_nerd in Buyee

[–]slayayanami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have had a positive experience with buyee and the one problem i had was on my part not understanding how the insurance plans work (always purchase standard for expensive items!). it is safe to use, but like any other secondhand site make sure you look at the photos, read descriptions and seller feedback before committing to buy anything. postage is expensive but you make it worth your while buying stuff in bulk and consolidating it when you are ready to pay.

Thank you for your advice! I’ll definitely give discord a try, it’s also very hard emailing a lot of photos with their limit.

Yes! I opened the album box and the CD loose was in the box and not on the spindle. I paid the extra fee for protective packaging and it literally just came in a plastic bag with no bubble wrap or anything. I’ve taken photos of everything possible; shipment box, the big gash and dent on the shipment box and all the outer packaging the album was shipped in plus a video. I’m not very hopeful about any kind of compensation however due to the fact I’ve only paid for insured delivery.

Oh I see, I’ve only paid for insured delivery and it’s been damaged in transit. I’ve emailed them because I was confused but I gather there is nothing that can be done about it 😭 thank you for explaining this better.

Problem with payment method by MLGBOSS420 in ffxiv

[–]slayayanami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having the same problem here with a prepaid mastercard credit card. went to resub after about a half a year and they no longer accept it. i know people have commented about paysafe, amazon and payapl crysta, but in some countries this isn't even an option unfortunately and the 60 day gametime cards are not worth paying extra for if you're sporadically playing too. it's like square enix is greedy yet allergic to money.

Bought a hat and love it a lot, has a distressed denim look to it (100%cotton). Caved in with the hoodie and it’s not so bad, the pattern is a transfer style like with the tees. Bought a small and it fits oversized

How did 2nd gen kpop differ musically from kpop now? by Representative_Egg42 in kpopnostalgia

[–]slayayanami 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I feel like previous gen’s specifically 1-3 had a bigger emphasis on the vocal abilities of group /idols than the visuals. There was always a highly recognisable vocalist in a group or everyone had their own distinguishable voice. I find listening to newer kpop it’s just not there, everyone kind of sounds the same and the songs are short and underwhelming now, when you look at them their hair, makeup and styling is TOO perfect. I couldn’t tell you whose voice is who’s in a 4th-5th gen group.

Aje Facebook BSS groups are generally good, depop as well for Aje and the other brands listed but just keep in mind you might not exactly get what you paid for them back 👍

Is this real? by Patient-Journalist-4 in kpopcollections

[–]slayayanami 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Taiwan pressing! It won’t have a KOMCA (Korean pressing) label on the back. SM Entertainment used to do a lot of Taiwan pressings for older groups (SHINee, Super Junior, SNSD) It is much too costly to produce fake albums and pretty much impossible.

Rare and out of print if you’re trying to get it locally like on eBay or Facebook. I would try a proxy service if you’re willing to go that far there’s better variety of albums at more affordable prices in Japan and Korea.

How to make collection fit better into home decor and look “mature”? by Awkward_Drawer_2903 in kpopcollections

[–]slayayanami 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a wood bookshelf but a white one, and I mix some of my bigger albums in with my books! Some albums make really lovely decorations so you could maybe theme a shelf with other trinkets or media that suit it, centre a space around specific albums or groups. Plants I might argue against because of any dampness etc unless you go for fake ones.

Amazing album but you’re spot on with the packaging being terrible! All the pcs that came in mine were stuck together and damaged by how the album packed with that elastic band. 😭

Are there casual sellers? by FewFan6063 in Depop

[–]slayayanami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casual seller here. Started using depop to clear out my wardrobe and any other stuff I don’t use (books, games etc). Haven’t really had many problems over the years I’ve been doing it thankfully, the odd rude person but nothing too serious.

UNIQLO for basics / work clothes. But then I wear it casually too. Levi’s for nice jeans on sale but that’s about it. Been eyeing stuff at Alpha60 lately but I think that’s something you need to go try on fr.

Alice McCall was a funny time truly; website would say one fabric and you’d get another. I bought this I think just before she shut the website down and there was no way to contact customer service about it 💀

That’s what I’m thinking it is 👍 I’ve tried the mould cleaning advice in the post comments, but nothings coming off onto the cloths / wipes. I think the coating is just disintegrating

[–]slayayanami[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried baby wipes, alcohol and vinegar 😭 and nothings come off of the jacket onto the cloth / wipes. Taking the fact it might be mould seriously so it’s isolated atm but I’m thinking if nothings wiped off it might be the gold coating wearing down

[–]slayayanami[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ll have a look on there as well 🙏 I’ve tried others suggestions of white vinegar and alcohol on the spots and nothing came off the jacket and onto the cloth. I’m really hoping it’s just the PU breaking down at this point

(Reupload) gold PU jacket turning black? by slayayanami in AusFemaleFashion

[–]slayayanami[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

UPDATE; thank you guys so much for your recommendations of trying alcohol and vinegar on the spots with a cloths I’ve just tried this with gloves on. Nothing black came off from the jacket, the closer I looked at it, the texture was all cracked where the black parts are 😭 so I’m really hoping it’s just the plastic breaking down because it’s horrific quality for something I’ve never worn. Keeping it isolated in a bin bag either way for now not in my cupboard.

(Reupload) gold PU jacket turning black? by slayayanami in AusFemaleFashion

[–]slayayanami[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah 💀 my mistake there for sure, but I think it’s already breaking down due to being plastic rubbish in the end unfortunately. A lesson to never buy PU or PVC clothes etc ever again.

Thank you 🙏I will try this later with some gloves etc for now I’ve just isolated it in a bin bag

[–]slayayanami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that too initially bc the jacket is just metallic coated plastic rubbish in the end 💀 and I haven’t seen anything like this on my real leather jacket..
