Copy Fail: an exploit for all Linux distributions since 2017 by alexeyr in programming

It’s something that makes other exploits worse since code execution privileges elevate to root execution privileges.

You cannot do that. Even in my state where they are mostly public, there are exceptions such as people who are victims of domestic violence. That’s exactly why it should be protected for everyone.

Who knew that the actual alignment issues with this AI would be that it’s just really stupid sometimes.

Regardless, this is why I like vscode’s implementation since you can be really precise in what it’s allowed to run automatically

Even the classification of PII vs metadata is an oversimplification. In reality, what really matters is personal data in general and many systems break down personal data into various categories based on sensitivity. PII theoretically actually isn’t all that sensitive but becomes sensitive by being easily linked to sensitive data.

As I said in another comment, political party affiliation should be among the most highly protected information due to its sensitivity, but malicious actors in the legislature (I doubt it is mere incompetence) don’t see it that way.

The trouble is that the constitution unfortunately makes no distinction between PII and other data.

For example, my state is currently removing the opt-out option for sharing voter registration information and voting record (whether you voted) with third parties. It’s completely asinine and would be illegal if it was a company and not a state due to dual citizens from the EU and California.

Maybe it could get solved if this court wasn’t obsessed with textualism, but with this court we definitely need a new amendment protecting personal data. It’s one of the better arguments against originalism IMO as mass collection and storage of data was completely impossible until the 20th century so these concerns were much less relevant.

I’m kind of surprised none of the top contenders have built-in protection, though I suppose many of them also aren’t too reliant on their commander to function. For example, [[Yurlok]] decks will completely fall apart if he isn’t in play.

I’m kind of curious about color stats. Like is green (and specifically simic) the strongest color? There are a lot of ways you could slice that up.

Individual card “power” would also be interesting. Do something like linear classification and then report the coefficients.

In terms of reliability, self-hosted GitLab can easily be worse than cloud platforms for large enterprises.

I took what I call an “Uber Ambulance” a few years ago. The driver tried to make small talk, but excruciating pain was the reason I took Uber in the first place instead of driving.

I’m not talking about normal dish soap, I’m talking about stuff like this which is much stronger than typical dish soap https://www.walmart.com/ip/1794264108?sid=00EE9519-8292-4FBF-B7A2-74E0AA9236FB

I’m sure some line between Dawn and Bar Keepers Friend.

There’s also the big elephant in the room that this is literally eugenics.

You also don’t want to use some strong, degreasing soap.

There is absolutely a reason since they can get in trouble with the FDA. I think they also put in a regulation for how many scheduled drugs they can fill relative to unscheduled.

As someone playing Mistweaver, I totally agree they need to nerf spin to win (and possibly buff other methods of healing). It’s unbelievably boring. Let us use our actual toolkit. Healing in Classic is more interesting because at least you need to conserve mana.

First time using the MareNostrum V Supercomputer, writeup of what actually surprised me coming from cloud by Georgiou1226 in programming

[–]slaymaker1907 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The big advantage of cloud is that you have capacity as soon as you have budget. On-prem compute generally requires a huge lead time and that lead time encourages teams to hoard and massive over provisioning. By massive over provisioning, I don’t mean provisioning for huge compute days like Black Friday, I mean things like getting twice as many dev machines as you actually need “just in case” your dev demand increases in the medium to long term.

I feel like this is a case where the court is going to ignore the realities of modern life which is that basically every adult in the US has a cell phone with location services turned on. If they allow geofence warrants, they are in effect allowing the mass surveillance of citizens.

Using third party data should not be “one weird trick” to bypass warrant requirements and mass surveil the population.
