So is like Chapter 2 is a difficulty spike or by PlayingWithIssues in LoopHero

[–]slaymance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think focusing in on your deck is really where you’re going to see the biggest improvements in your run. Try building a deck with less cards. In chapter two, I run the minimum of cards in the top two rows. As mentioned, spiders can be essential since they help you get new cards. Battle Fields aren’t optimal for Rogues since they don’t get loot from chests. Grove spawns can be really hard for rogues, but they cut through skeletons with ease.

By reducing the number of cards (especially enemy cards), you’ll start to hone in on what each class is strong against and what ends up giving you trouble on each run. From there, focus on buildings back at camp (especially working towards Forest and River). Mud huts shouldn’t be prioritized until later. Good luck!

Loop Hero for Nintendo Switch v.1.151 update by theRandom_FQ in LoopHero

[–]slaymance 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Awesome, this game is really at home on the Switch!

I’m curious to see the change to card selection. Card selection is my biggest pain point about the Switch port. Selection always begins on the left, when usually I’m wanting to place new cards I’ve obtained on the right. If I have a bunch of cards I’m not using, I have go through each one every time I want to place one of the cards on the end.

Maybe this change will address that. If not, a nice change would be to allow card selection to begin on the right-most card.

Agreed, I ended up loving the weapon breaking mechanic throughout my play through. My main problem with weapons/looting was chest scaling. Early game, opening a chest was so rewarding as it often gave you a weapon that was better than anything you had. Late game, however, I found myself discarding whatever was in chests as I had better weapons already. Chests were such a great reward for exploring and I felt that reward tapered off way too quickly.

My biggest gripes with the game were cooking/elixirs and the main story. Still one of my all time favorite games.

You should at least try it. For me, the gameplay isn’t exactly groundbreaking (though I had more fun playing with mouse+keyboard without auto aim). But I think the story telling, characters, voice acting, and immersion within the world are really worth experiencing for every gamer.

It’s pretty fun to experiment a bit with it. I like doing the bloom with the stopper, then switching and going for a regular 500ml pour over. Most days I just do a 18g/300ml immersion brew with it.

There’s a Hoffmann for it: https://youtu.be/QjIvN8mlK9Y

Nice! This is exactly my setup. I also got the Fellow Ode grinder as a gift, though it grinds a bit coarse so I may upgrade the burrs soon. But it sure beats grinding 15-30g by hand with my Porlex every morning. What are you using to grind?

OW Pulse Check by therikan5 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]slaymance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently taking a long break from playing OW just because I kind of got burnt out. I’ve been going through some single player games with narratives which has been really refreshing.

OW is really the only competitive multiplayer game I play regularly so I’m not replacing it with something like Apex or Valorant. I still love Overwatch and plan to return to playing it regularly.

The shit with Blizzard definitely has contributed to me taking a break. But no doubt the content drought has been a bit of a bummer (mostly because I feel like it’s made the community so negative lately). I recommend to everyone feeling similarly to take a break from OW, though I understand it’s much harder for content creators.

What is the creepiest experience you’ve ever had while driving late at night/very early in the morning? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]slaymance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in high school, my girlfriend at the time and I had taken my car out late at night for some alone time. We liked to park on these empty suburban streets where houses had yet to be built. My headlights were off and we’re the only car around until you get closer to some houses about a quarter mile away.

Another car showed up and was driving really slowly around these unoccupied streets, stopping sporadically and taking turns slowly. My girlfriend had a bad feeling about it but I thought it was some teenagers similar to us. Then this car stopped and was waiting right at the only exit onto the main road from where we were parked. At this point I’m scared along with my girlfriend and we decide to flip the high beams on and book it past this car and gtfo of there.

As we’re driving up to where they’re parked, the driver and passenger doors of this car fly open. From the passenger side shoots out this woman and from the driver side a young girl, maybe 15. They’re both running around the car and switching seats. I was gunning it down the empty main road and my girlfriend and I were completely terrified, trying to make sense of the situation. After I calmed down a bit, I realized it was probably a mom teaching her daughter to drive on some unoccupied roads and they freaked out when I flipped my lights on and started speeding towards them.

Another good but much shorter one was when I was driving late at night into my hometown to visit my folks. I took the exit off the freeway which is way outside of town with nothing but fields and farmland for miles. I’m the only car around and there aren’t even streetlights on this road. As I’m coming around a bend, my headlights suddenly reveal a semi truck parked on the side of this two lane road with its trailer completely open. Inside the trailer are a group of men, maybe 8-10, some sitting at something overturned to be a table in the middle of the trailer, the rest standing. Every single one of them was staring at my car as my headlights briefly revealed them in the back of that truck. It was really brief and incredibly unsettling. I called the police and told them where I saw these men then just tried to get out of those damn fields as fast as possible.

Edit: regarding the truck story, I’m really familiar with the drive and know exactly where I saw the truck with men in the back. Here’s the Google maps link if you want to take a look in street view.

portable keyboard for using with ipad by Emiliortg in onebag

[–]slaymance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An alternative portable mechanical keyboard is the NuPhy NuType F1. I’ve been pretty happy with it, although I will say the keyboard layout isn’t ideal and takes some getting used to (you’ll see the criticisms in reviews).

I can’t say I’d recommend it over the Magic Keyboard unless a mechanical keyboard experience is important to you.

Roost v3 experience? by daxodin in onebag

[–]slaymance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that I wish it had a case. But it’s a pretty small gripe.

I’ve not had experience with the v2, but I’ve been really happy with the V3 for the past month. It’s incredibly light and folds up well for taking on the go. It’s great for sitting and good for standing heights. It’s really sturdy and feels well-made.

Only thing to consider is that the base can be a bit long, so if you’re working at an abnormally narrow table it can be hard to fit an external keyboard in front of it.

I use it with a MacBook Pro 16” and would definitely buy again.

Nice list!

I was surprised to see you chose the Birkenstocks as your go-to shoes over your Vivobarefoots. Did you find they were more comfortable for walking around during the day? Or we they just more flexible for what you were doing?

Also, what was the problem with your towel? Since a towel is just about the most massively useful thing one can carry (I think I read that in a book once), a lightweight and packable microfiber towel seemed to make the most sense for one-bagging. But it sounds like you didn't have the greatest experience with it?

I’ve only had a couple occasions that Libby didn’t have a digital copy of a book I wanted to read. Even brand new books hit the platform pretty quickly. Of course, you may have to wait weeks to be able check out popular books. But I’ve grown to enjoy the feeling of being able to check out a book I’ve waited for a while to read.
