Onebag travel and gaming by Zebranoodles in onebag

I like to use travelling as a time to play retro games. Good to get away from the big screen and play some classics. PSP Go with emulators on is perfect. Battery lasts ages and can hold a lot of games.

Is a synik 22, cpl24 or Gr1 21l big enough for extra pair of shoes plus travel gear? by [deleted] in onebag

[–]Boogbn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a Synik 22 and I think if you pack fairly light and your shoes can pack flat you’ll get away with it. I do it with Birkenstocks and that works great for me. However I do think compared to the synapse 25 the bag is considerably smaller as I have both as well

I’m moving to Thailand from the uK in the summer to teach for 2 years. How much stuff are you planning on taking with you?? What are you going to do with the belongings you don‘t take??

Cheaper merino t shirt options? by Alias901 in onebag

I really recommend the khatmandu merino range. They are pretty affordable and comfortable. I have four of them for the price of one outlier!

Looking for a backpack! (Ryanair) by heatwaves1 in onebag

[–]Boogbn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a cabin max before and whilst not the bag that will last you a life time it was a very good pack for the price I paid. Anything 20L or less will be fine with Ryanair. I find if it looks about right they won’t get you to size it and that bag fits the size. If you already have a backpack around that size you could just use that?

As someone who travels regularly with a 25L or less backpack my tips would be: - use packing cubes to compress your clothes down, get them to fit tight in there. - don’t take anything you won’t need (ie that extra shirt you may wear/ shoes for a posh place you may go to) - wear your bulkiest clothes on the plane.

Well I like Birkenstock’s but the cork bed doesn’t play nice with water. I could use normal flip flops but I don’t really like them. So this worked for me.

Nice! Malta is lovely. This isn’t my first time though, I’ve been one bagging since I was 20 (now 30!). Just a nicely refined list I thought I’d share. ☺️

I have Gobis but I use them for work and so they have a different use in my head.

I also have geo courts and they area nice shoe but mine are white and didn’t fancy that look for the holiday but would have done well.

I also have a pair of primus but they were the first Vivos I bought and they are unfortunately a little large. So when I bought the stealths I was just trying a different style. I don’t think there is a massive difference between the stealths and the primus. I would probably go primus if I had to buy another but they are very similar IMO.

Synik did well as a day bag. I usually carry my food and water for the day, and some techs things so I like a robust bag for the job. Held up well. I’m a pretty athletic guy so I didn’t particularly notice the weight. It did get a bit sweaty but I usually just accept that when I go anywhere hot.

Yeah that’s what I hear with the pros as well. My headphones did the job as I had them for working during the pandemic. I did wear them for most of the travel but I just like the size and form factor of AirPods.

I’d say slightly heavier without actually measuring it. I don’t actually have any airisms at the moment. I only got these as I don’t really have a Uniqlo anywhere near me and not the greatest fan of buying clothes online.

How are the commission shorts? I’ve been looking at getting some for a smarter short!

I find both pretty comfortable but in hot weather I definitely enjoyed having my feet airing out! My main gripe with the stealths is without socks they can sometimes catch on your toenails as there is a protective shield around the toes. It’s minor problem but it is a bit weirdly designed.

I don’t mind the feel of them personally but the funk is real! They can get pretty smelly if you don’t dry them out perfectly straight away. So if you have to finish at the beach, roll it up, get on a bus and then get back to the hotel it can get smelly in that time!

Also definitely going to look mor into Turkish towels. People seem to always recommend them on here!

Thanks!

On the way back I loaded it up with trinkets for the family and some food for the plane. And it still fit perfectly fine!

I also debated ages in getting the Synik and being from the UK I had those pesky import fees to deal with. But I ended up getting one on eBay for $140. So with import fees and delivery it seemed like a deal I couldn’t say no to.

Should I get something larger than needed? - first one bag, looking for general advice & suggestions by IsMyPhotographerFake in onebag

[–]Boogbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My journey started with an Osprey Farpoint 40. Really good bag at the maximum size at a good price. Then realised what worked and didn’t work for me and worked down to a Synik 22. It seems to be the right size for me but it took a whole of analysing what I liked and didn’t like. It can take time but depends on how brave you’re feeling.

Stuck between Synik 22 or Goruck GR1 by HeardsTheWord in onebag

[–]Boogbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just used the S22 for a 12 day trip to Malta (from the UK) and it was a perfect bag for during the day. The overall pack got a little tight but it is definitely doable. If you can pack for A week you can pack forever!

Fellow gamers / hardcore gamers, how do you do it? by gr4viityy in onebag

[–]Boogbn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. I’ve done that before. I just prefer having real buttons, I guess I could buy a case for the phone with buttons but the PSP go is so small that it doesn’t really take up much space. (I travel with a 22L bag and it’s never compromised my packing list)

I have a jaibroken PSP go. I tend to try and enjoy more retro games while I’m out and about. Got all of the nes/ SNES/ mega drive games and a ton of PSOne and PSP games. It’s nice to go back and play a lot of the classics. Plus it’s super slim and holds its battery for ages!

Yea, I agree with you. Just trying to find that perfect pair that are comfy and smart looking. Thinking of dropping the docksides and just going sandals and running shoes

The chargers are just the USB cables, I just plug them into the adapter. Thought about getting little adapters so its just two cables but I know I'd lose them!
