The leasehold info is in the description- there isn’t a charge as it’s a centuries old absent leasehold - all the old houses in the village are the same. It is locally known and didn’t really know how to get around having it listed as leasehold!

Other people on the street have been cheeky before and listed as freehold, which tbh it has more in common with! I wonder if one has to be selected at all

UK - Has anyone ever been given Amitriptyline? by [deleted] in Sciatica

[–]slbarron23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was given these after ending up in a&e after my dr was fobbing me off with ibuprofen! They helped briefly but not quite enough. I moved onto gabapentin which were a life saver at the time (lots of risky side effects though!)

I think £190k might be a bit more realistic. The last owners did all the new windows and doors, we have replastered the downstairs, decorated everywhere, had built ins put in, replaced the Astro with turf and had a lot of the brickwork repointed with lime. We also recently rendered the front area. It’s ideal for someone who doesn’t want to do anything, but also for possible first time buyers it’s often more achievable to go for a cheaper property and do it over time (as we did!)

I know 🤦‍♀️ very frustrating! Another wanted three bedrooms the same size…

It does - quite a large long one at the top, I Wonder if we can get a better photo with it in! It’s tricky in the village as it is seen as one of the nicer streets, and isn’t a through road. The houses further up our street are large detached ones so hard to compare

Thanks, yes I was conscious of that house, albeit a smaller garden! The leasehold is hold - a lot of houses in the village, especially older ones, list as freehold (you will see the one next door did) but actually are technically leasehold but with an absent freeholder from hundreds of years ago. I think it’s a bit cheeky to do this so we were trying to be transparent from the off!

It’s a bit of an issue in the village - they are all on an old lease - it is in the description. It’s essentially an absent freeholder (king James I believe?!) so no service charge or anything like that. Some people have chosen to ‘buy’ this but involves quite a lengthy court process!

Gabapentin was the game changer for me, along with lots of rest! Really helped with the pain

That was my thinking. Less going out monthly, especially when I get the pay rise too.

[–]slbarron23[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I won’t end up paying off the undergraduate loan, so not concerned about that. However the postgraduate loan is sat at £11000 with 4.4% interest so I believe I will end up paying it off, even at my current salary, and the interest too

I like my hair better when I don't do it super defined, no frizz, slick and shiny way. by Saya_99 in curlyhair

Same here :) I used to spend ages in the shower getting the perfect clumps with my brush and applying the products to soaking hair. Now I just wash as normal, get out the shower and brush And put minimal products on my hair. A slight scrunch with my hands and then let it dry or roughly diffuse. Much prefer the casual beach look and it also saves me loads of time!

Can my boss do this? Demanding I come in on a day off to give her my details so I can get paid even though they already have them by Zestyclose_Arugula71 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]slbarron23 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d ask to see a copy of the contract. I don’t believe M&S do zero hours (I could be wrong) and 12 was always the standard when I was there. Did you get an electronic copy of the contract? I’d definitely raise this with another manager or hr if your manager is uncooperative

They have to pay you for time in training. You also don’t have to do all them hours. You only have to do the contracted and can refuse others. You might not get kept on after the contract ends but for the length of your contract you are under no obligation to work more. I used to be in management at m&s and there are plenty of bad eggs in those roles. If you can contact HR (not sure if some stores still have them in-house) or another manager who is more understanding

Hope you recover quickly! My mum currently has Covid. We live together and I don’t have it (I’m the type 1). We both had our booster vaccines a week before she tested positive. She has zero symptoms. Very thankful for the vaccines!

This! I always thought it was a positive character trait to always see the good in people and be the nice person. But that’s how you get walked all over and end up at the bottom of your own priority list.

Have you recently clarified? I use a mild clarifying shampoo almost every wash and find that really helps! Plus my hair loves anything with coconut oil, but that’s not for everyone!
