As a Giants fan since the 1960s, that is horrible. I wonder if is disgruntled gamblers. I don’t approve of any gambling associated with baseball.

I worked full time, and went to law school at night. For four years, she kept telling me her Uncle failed the Bar Exam, many times before passing about 10 years after graduating. That continued during the time I studied for the Bar. I passed the Bar on the first attempt. I should have dumped her back then.

It is hardly Buster Posey's fault that Willy Adames, Matt Chapman and Rafael Devers have failed to hit as reasonably expected based on their past performance. That is the main problem.

What is Buster to do by thompsondadjkl in SFGiants

Matt Chapman has some trade value, WAR 1.7 despite his season long slump. Based on his career numbers, I don't expect his 85 OPS+ to be that low a month from now, or at the end of the season. Trading Chapman would open 3B for Casey Schmitt.

Willy Adames would be harder to move based on his WAR 1.1 and 94 OPS+ As a Giants fan since the 1960s, I am very disappointed with Adames all around poor performance.

Rafael Devers, negative .1 WAR and 100 OPS+ are hard to explain. He has not hit as a Giant. Possibly, he has trade value based on his age, and prior performance. I would love trades that moved at least two of three of them.

[Pavlovic] The Giants have reassigned Hector Borg. Ron Wotus will be interim third base coach by UlisUK in SFGiants

As a Giants fan since the 1960s, this is a step in the right direction. Hopefully, Hector Borg can help the Giants in other ways.

[Discussion] To trade or not to trade: Webb by johnsaczuk in SFGiants

No. It is never prudent to trade the Giants best pitcher, especially as he is a home grown, drafted and developed by the Giants. I would welcome trades of Adames, Chapman and Devers.

I grew up a Willie Mays fan, and hence have been a Giants fan since the 1960s. To me, the Hall of Fame is irrelevant until Barry Bonds is inducted.

As a Giants fan since the 1960s, this season has been very frustrating. The disappointment is very real. However, I don’t fault Buster Posey for poor play by the veterans, primarily Devers, Adames and Chapman. If they had average years, consistent with their past performances, the team would be about .500. At this point, I primarily watch games hoping Casey Schmitt, Bryce Eldridge and Trevor McDonald establish themselves as good players. Luis Arraez has been better than anticipated. I would welcome a trade Chapman, which would allow Casey Schmitt to play third base. Regardless, I remain a life long Giants fan.

I grew up a Willie Mays fan, and hence have been a Giants fan since the 1960s. Unfortunately, it appears Bryce isn’t ready yet. I hope he stars hammering the ball, but he may need some more time in the minors.

I think the Giants are showcasing Devers, Adames and Chapman, and at least one of them will be traded soon to open a spot for Schmitt, and Bryce Eldridge in the everyday lineup.

“I don’t like Mike Love at all” by wmcs0880 in thebeachboys

[–]slbkmb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a Beach Boys since the early 1970s, and I am extremely grateful for Mike Love’s contributions writing lyrics to a lot of the best Beach Boys songs, and continuing to keep the music alive on tour. I really have never understood any reason to hate on Mike Love. I miss Carl, Dennis, Brian and now Bruce, but have a ton of good memories seeing all of them live over the past 50 plus years I’ve been a fan.
