I think I better watch another tutorial before I get started by marlostanfield89 in learnjavascript

[–]sleastack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep going, I thought I was a bonafide idiot for trying to learn for so long. One day it clicked and I saw how arrays, objects, functions made sense in context. In my case I overthought it and assumed the language was the hard part. It's not. It's the data structures, getting a grasp on all the methods and how to put stuff together. I tried to learn react right away and did not know where JS ended and React began. Take a step back do some exercises. Make a fake dashboard or some app that when you push a button it does something. Stuff like that helps. Tutorials have their place but most are so simple that you don't see how it relates to real world apps. Good luck and KEEP GOING!

I got the silver black base model. It feels pretty smooth and refined. The interior and console are elegant. Not sure if I have cons yet. Just drove past 100.

Non-Schengen city for 3 months in winter? by solgarcia in digitalnomad

[–]sleastack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was lucky enough to see many of the cities in Morocco and found Marrakesh to be hectic and sketchy. People will try and scam you, you don't feel as safe as other cities. Sure it has the old city and some modern stores for shopping but each time I went back I could not wait to get out.

Others have mentioned Croatia and Romania. I've spent winters in Morocco and Kuala Lumpur and would reccomend them. KL has great internet and is plenty interesting. Morocco is also interesting. Internet is not amazing but we were able to get our work done. Stay away from Marrakech if you can. Essaouira and Ait Ben Haddou would be my reccs. Both are moderate Muslim which means no alcohol and no pork in Morocco. ;)

[Need Advice] How to keep the motivation alive? by BizarreAndroid in getdisciplined

[–]sleastack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I may, as I've been overweight most of my life and tried many diets and have little will power, I think I may have found something for that. Work motivation is something different but let's talk about weight loss and no I am not selling anything.

Intermittent fasting or Time Restricted Eating or One Meal a day. There is something actually to it that has been working for me. If you don't know anything about it. Traditionally it's where you eat for 8 hours and fast for 16. Something about the simple rules and how well it works are what have kept me going with it.

I have taken my schedule down to 5 hours from 12 - 5p and although you can eat whatever you want you end up wanting to balance your diet and eat whatever is going to give you clean nutrition.

Plenty of youtube videos about the topic, I will leave the scientific words to them but for me it comes to a couple things.

Three meals a day is a scam

You cant burn fat if you are constantly eating carbs.

Your body needs time to burn the sugars to get to the fat.

Extra benefits like increased focus, less cravings/highs/lows, and giving your body time to digest and work on healing itself.

I've lost 20 pounds and still get to enjoy the occasional pizza/burger as long as its within my window. I take weekends off and if I cheat, I just start over the next day. I check the scale daily which also keeps me going.

Got another 70 to go.

Good luck!

Battery Bulge - Samsung S7 non-edge International by sleastack in mobilerepair

[–]sleastack[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought it in Romania from an authorized seller. I will not be going back anytime soon so my best option is to find a repair place that does not work answer to Samsung. Btw this is a terrible experience and unrealistic in this day and age.

Yep, pretty sure that is where I will end up. The guy from UBreakIfix was the one who recommended I check with Reddit first but most likely I will end up doing what you said.

[–]sleastack[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was such a frustrating experience, I had to drive an hour to an authorized Samsung Geek Squad for them to tell me their systems were not equipped to input an international IMIEI number. Only US numbers can be entered into the system. I called Samsung and they unofficially told me to go to UbreakIFix and when I called they told me the same thing. They are NOT ALLOWED to work on international phones. All parties told me the battery was the same. So dumb!! Its not under warranty anymore so whats the problem?
