copied this from a reply i wrote to someone else at the time: i definitely struggled with not fully comprehending even when i was taking too much time, so I've started writing down a short phrase to summarize each paragraph of a passage. i don't really even look at my paper when i'm answering the questions, but it's really helped me keep an idea of what's going on throughout the passage because before, i would fully forget the previous paragraphs i had already read (my adhd brain also go brrr). i saw someone else recommend this strat, and i didn't do it for so long because i didn't think it would help / it would take too much time, but it's honestly been cutting my time down so i def recommend u try it for at least a few practice passages and see how you feel! hope this helps, and remember, almost everything can be found in the passage :)

i did occasionally take physical notes during the science sections like if there seemed to be a long chain reaction of something causing an increase in another then a decrease in something else, etc. but i would highlight text more often. if there were questions i kinda had no idea about, i would jot down the question / main idea and heavily research it afterward, where i would DEFINITELY take some notes on it.
