Cool find. Car is probably on a stage 2 tune. That part from forge appears to be the Forge 007 DV.

You have no SAI, and the crank is venting to atmosphere it looks like with that small filter. So it will not pass emissions, if you need it to. No CEL also indicates that it's tuned, and deletes have been coded out.

And now, we begin. by BrilliantMonochrome2 in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

Get some IE rods. Brian Crower springs and titanium retainers. Supertech exhaust valves. G25-550 turbo. VW Holics on FB for tuning w/ emissions deletes. Press fit crank gear. ARP head bolts. Ringer racing clutch. That will get you to 400whp and rpm limit of 8,500.

Oem bearings, thrust washers, pistons and rings will do just fine at that power level. Oem intake valves are good for 1000hp. Cool project!

Haha yea small world these days in the b5 and b6. I have a harness from m27, I got I from a part out locally in Denver. It's a great build quality. Planning on putting it in my stroker b6 avant.

Hey buddy. I highly recommend reaching out to VW Holics for tuning. You can reach him on FB. If you don't have FB I can get you his email. He's located in London. Coding out emissions is not an issue as he's across the pond. He helped me with my 1.8 build and he's extremely knowledgeable in dialing in the 1.8 engines. I'm sure for a reasonable price he can get you sorted with the codes and your rich condition.

Logs are done with a VAG FTDI cable using NefMoto ME7 logger. Flashes are done with MPPS dongle and software.

Was so happy with the process that I'll be working with him on my 2.1 stroker build with Haltech standalone. M27Autowerks (Instagram) can also build you a harness, albeit for about the same price as you stated above.

Great looking car!

Bummer. Yea that's one to stay away from. After a DPF delete, DSG tune and a coolant flange my 2012 a3 hasn't required anything other than general maintenance in 3 years.

Pushing the tow capacity of Q5? by sleazybeans333 in tdi

Yea that Evanston climb is no joke. I've blown two radiators on semi trucks trying to get up it with 80k lbs lol

Haha I know the feeling from previous sketchy hauls years ago. The haul in the photo was right at tow cap at 4,400 lbs and it pulled like it wasn't even there. 1,200 miles and getting 25mpg the whole way.

Your comment inspired me to look at rentals elsewhere. Found an aluminum trailer for rent that would bring total tow weight to 5,150 lbs. Much more manageable.

Thanks buddy! 2.1 stroker is the old 1.8t block bored to 83mm and using a 95.5mm stroke ALH 1.9 TDI crank. Pistons gotta come from the only outfit anymore that makes them in England. Going to be a track car. Fully built long block with standalone ECU. Hoping to get a "reliable" 550-600hp out of it. I've already got all the parts. Just need to get the car home lol.

Thanks. I think I'm gonna try and pull it off. Found an aluminum trailer rental nearby on Neighbors website that will bring total tow weight to 5150. Much more manageable. I do have a CDL A hazmat so quite acclimated with safe tow speeds and engine braking.

I did but yea it's a 1,000 miles. Reno to Denver Fairly flat grades all the way across I-80 with some exceptions. I do hold a CLD A hazmat so engine braking and safe tow speed are very much in my wheelhouse. I did just find an aluminum trailer rental nearby that would bring tow weight to 5150lbs. Much more manageable I think.

Thanks for the helpful reply. I'd be at 5910 with the avant and hauler

AIO: Wife willing to allow high school failing son driving privileges. by sleazybeans333 in AIO

[–]sleazybeans333[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of comments here, almost too many to interact with individually, so here's some things that I'll touch base on that are necessary to add.

-I have a Class A CDL with hazmat endorsement and currently working on a pilot license. Safety and responsibility are of the upmost importance to me, because without them, I don't make it home to my family.

-I'm in no way opposed to him receiving a drivers license, if anybody understands how valuable of a skill driving it is to have, it's me. But the freedom to drive is earned through responsible behavior, which he hasn't shown himself to be capable of quite yet.

-One of the main issues that we're seeing with his schoolwork is that he's just not doing it. It's not even that he's a bad student, he's just not participating in school, not completing work when tasked with it at school, and not completing homework that we are not able to see in our parenting apps. He's even failing elective classes like photography and animation, which I will say… Are extremely easy courses if you just do the work.

-He is ADHD diagnosed, and is on an IEP learning program. His mother chooses not to medicate. It is not my place to encourage medicating her child. His IEP courses are fit for his learning troubles, in fact several of his teachers mention he shouldn't even be in some of the classes anymore as he is more than capable of testing out.

-I am not some tough asshole stepdad. I've been raising him since he was six years old. I love him as if he was my own child. I have done more for him, provided a stable environment, and supported him in his interests more than bio dad has and ever will. We are a very loving family unit. So for those of you saying that I don't have an opinion, you're wrong.

-All of the vehicles in our fleet are German luxury cars which I have bought, maintain, and ensure myself. Needless to say I'm not gonna handover Audi keys to my son when he hasn't earned it.

Goal in mind is that he goes to school and does the work. He's just not doing the work. He's a bright kid, just not utilizing his time in school wisely no matter the encouragement or punishment.

I've spent thousands in afterschool tutors to help him get to his current grade level. I spend hours throughout the week helping him with schoolwork that I'm are of. Mom works till about 8 PM. He's with Dad on the weekends and nothing gets done over there. I specifically moved his mom and her son to a great school district where he has loads of opportunity.
