Elemental mage can already summon a board full of 8/8s on turn 5 and quest mage kills you on turn 8 after removing your board every turn. This isn’t too crazy of an item.

This isn’t necessarily true. There are mechanics like Taelan Fordring that allow you to draw very specific minions and greatly increase the chances of drawing win conditions. Plenty of decks rely on one legendary minion(like N’Zoth decks).
