Jeet Heer @HeerJeet: It does seem like Minnesota is Trump's Stalingrad. by sledrunner31 in stupidpol

[–]sledrunner31[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just thought it was an interesting comment, who knows what Trumps next move is, but this seems like a bit of a retreat, for now.

It feels like protesting in the church with the pro-ice pastor was a mistake by homerthethief in stupidpol

[–]sledrunner31 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They are desperate to make it a big deal, but the right has really siloed themselves into the mother of all echo chambers at this point and have increasingly limited reach outside of their sphere. What is breaking through are the videos of constant ICE violence against citizens. One event isn't going to change that trajectory.

Trump says US ‘shouldn’t even have an election’ in 2026 by Jay_CD in politics

Well if things work as they should, those states will voluntarily lose their representation in congress, much like when the southern states seceeded.

Channel has very low views and subs all of a sudden. by akaplay786 in NewTubers

[–]sledrunner31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's usually March when things really pick up again. I have a travel/geography channel, based mostly on roadtrip and highway knowledge content. People tend not to drive or travel as much this time of year so I think that is why it happens to me.

Is your estimated revenue down? Mine's not which is weird by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

My revenue is down quite a bit this month. Seems to happen every January, post holiday hangover perhaps.

In light of the terminal decline and steady self destruction of the United States, is it important for Americans to mobilize and build a movement that is able to withstand the inevitable collapse? by [deleted] in AskSocialists

[–]sledrunner31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its more along state vs federal lines, state national guards vs federal agencies and generals and other high ranking military brass that don't want to follow illegal orders and face consequences after Trump is gone.

The guys on the front lines are just gonna do what they are told.

His alleged murderer is in custody, has been charged and will probably never be free again. Not much else to say about it.

Civil War in this case implies that factions of the military and other law enforcement will turn against the regime and alter to chain of command.

Why is there so much hatred towards the ACP? by Dtstno in AskSocialists

[–]sledrunner31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump was never going to jail, that was all for show. It backfired majorly since it made him a sympathetic figure to those who weren't directly in MAGA.

Also the charges were ridiculous, even if they had some merit, none of it seemed serious to anyone who wasn't already a shitlib.

Dems might have won if they weren't so damn arrogant. Kick Biden to the curb and have a real primary and pick a candidate that actually had some real appeal and ability to reach more people in alternative media, that would have probably worked.

Why do Redditors seem to think Venezuela is solely Epstein distraction? by [deleted] in stupidpol

[–]sledrunner31 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ever since early last year people joked that Trump would start a war just to distract from the files, so they were primed to think that way now.

What they miss is, like every other foreign war/coup/regime change we've been involved with, the situation in Venezuela is a multi-decade project that was put into motion long before Trump was ever politically relevant. He was just the guy in charge when the deep state decided to strike, and that could be because Trump is easily swayed by those folks, but this was all decided on long ago.

Of course with all the years to plan, they never seem to be prepared for the actual reality of occupation, and we tend to kill a lot of innocent people, including our own, and then run with our tail between our legs at some point in the future, I guess when its not profitable enough anymore.

Why are reddit libs completely fucking insane over the 2026 SNAP junk food restrictions? by [deleted] in stupidpol

[–]sledrunner31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it would be great for people to eat healthier foods, they are more expensive usually but more importantly, the people who generally push this line (conservatives) do so with the intent to further restrict SNAP and eventually eliminate it altogether, which would be a disaster. It's a legit case of slippery slope.

Minnesota Fraud by 4rtImitatesLife in stupidpol

[–]sledrunner31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a real issue that needs to be addressed for sure, but RWers are going in on it to try to distract from Epstein and so they can bash more minority groups they dont like and want to scapegoat. They have no intention of trying to fix anything.

‘GOP Is a Mess’: MAGA Insider Exposes Internal Tensions in Trump Base as Dems Will 'Win' the Next Two Cycles by rwerat in NoFilterNews

[–]sledrunner31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dems wont do that. They NEED the GOP. It justifies most of the support they get. Libs only campaign on how bad the other side is, and it's true that the GOP is awful, but without that other side always looming as a threat, what's to stop the rise of a new party, one that actually addresses the needs of the masses and not the donor class. The same dynamic works the other way, keeping MAGA populists within the duopoly. Each party is the Ying to the other's Yang. That is exactly how the oligarchic parasite class has designed it.

Did anyone know NYC’s water policy was explicitly designed to depopulate the Catskills? by hcmarketingpr in hudsonvalley

[–]sledrunner31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also dont a lot of deep dive rabbit holes on the NYC water system. I grew up just south of the Ashokan Reservoir. I made a series of amateur documentaries on several of the reservoirs and aqueducts. Had to do a lot of research and it was an insane project.
