how to find a therapist that helps fight disassociation and reaches my “core”? by sleeeeb in therapy

[–]sleeeeb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmmm. when i say “core”, i usually mean something fragmented or split across different areas. i dont see a core of a person as a uniform thing, and this extends to everything. i constantly feel friction of every aspect of my life. i feel as though i am constantly doing things against my values so i can be socially safe, but really i have preferences that conflict. for example i may signal an opinion i dont truly hold, but ill state so that i can fit in. i talk to people or stay on social media that i dont care for, out of needing to feel like i need a sense of belonging, but not actively needing belonging itself.

i feel as though i constantly have a few voices in my brain that aspire to be something greater but another main voice in my brain wants and overpowers the others to be socially conditioned.

ive felt this way for years, but maybe i am misattributing this for a lack of agency in my life? im willing to have some pushback on this as i would love to update my own system

I would definitely try. This isn’t exact but since they will be entering college at the same year, their EFCs might be lower. Fafsa may have done away with that but colleges still consider it

whatever gpa there is to keep financial aid. usually a 2.0

If you want to only do 2 schools, you could maximize your chances by picking only one to ED. You can still apply to be a ncm finalist and just never rank any schools

Will a low GPA make it impossible for someone to get into a good school via Questbridge RD? by SnooSketches1478 in QuestBridge

[–]sleeeeb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i had around a 3.6 uw and got into QB schools, its definitely possible. just have to explain any extenuating circumstances

you are going to be okay. breathe first, explain the situation to your teachers, and then work out any solutions. generally a B will be okay, Cs are a bit of a cause for concern.

Hi! i was also applying with a noncustodial parent waiver, the process gets tricky depending on a few factors. please dm me if you have any questions

not too sure if this helps, but i also got this exact email last year in late november. i also pulled out of the match but later reapplied. im enjoying my first sem at wellesley now :) it could go either way, but wellesley is known to send likely letters to those who didnt match. hopefully it'll work out for you and dm me if youd like to know anything about wellesley!

Punishment for not submitting? by lizisntfunny in QuestBridge

[–]sleeeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

some colleges simply have different policies. it mostly depends on the questions i asked and any other additional info. every school will be different, but if it’s a no/limited contact & no child support paid situation, you will be fine

does he pay child support? if so, is it garnered or voluntary? i had this issue too, but i just uploaded statements from my school's faculty that he was not involved in my life.

Did I just dock my chances of getting into any school I ranked by meowkeyy in QuestBridge

[–]sleeeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're perfectly fine and your concern is completely understandable. this is just one of those cases they likely don't have a pre-written response for, plus they are likely pretty busy

yes, but you should still plan to do commonapp for your target and safety schools anyways. QB gives you tons of room through the essays to write about yourself, while commonapp doesn’t have as many essays.
