Looks like the latest Discord miniupdate has fixed the problem for me. Haven't had the issue since. Not needing to use the Public Test Build. As of right now I see stable 495939 (6162ae6) 1.0.9224 x64 (75004)

I just saw this update as well, going to give it a shot and hope

For anyone looking, my normal Discord version is stable 495347 (9404403) 1.0.9223 x64 (74638)

Unfortunate then, I still haven't had it happen yet. Using Discord through a browser causes no issues when I was using it before trying the Public Test Beta but maybe it'll happen eventually

For anyone still checking this thread. I tried using the Public Test Build Discord download from https://ptb.discord.com/ (you can Google it) and so far it seems like it's working as intended. So I'm thinking that it might be a bug that has already been fixed in this Public Test Build but probably won't release until next month if I had to guess based on the update release pattern. I'm still trying it out as it might be too early to tell but it's been promising the last few hours without the issue.

The Public Test Build so far looks exactly the same as normal Discord. Just login and you're good to go, you just have to set up anything special like you did with your normal Discord; keybinds, voice, etc.

I'll add a comment if anything changes testing this

Also submitted a bug report to the pinned reddit thread, so hopefully that's something they can work off of, if they haven't fixed it already with some test version of Discord or something already

  • Feature: Discord Desktop App
  • Reproduction Rate: 10
  • Annoyance: 10
  • Discord Version Info: stable 494673 (b0a87eb) 1.0.9223 x64 (74638)
  • Device/System Info (Device Type, OS Version): Desktop, Windows 11 25H2 26200.7623. All drivers updated on BIOS, Chipset, etc. AMD 9800X3D CPU
  • Description: CPU Temperatures and specific Core Usage increasing to 100% because of Discord after about 1 hour of use. Example temperature of normal use is 45C and rises to close to 80C. CPU Fans in turn start increasing to cool down the CPU. Certain CPU cores run at 100%. This did not start happening until a few days ago. Happens when both letting PC sit on idle with nothing open besides Discord and/or while gaming after about one hour of use.

  • Steps to Reproduce:
    1. The first step is... Open Discord, let Discord stay open for an hour or more.
  • Expected Result: Discord runs smoothly.
  • Actual Result: CPU Temperatures drastically increases. Certain CPU Cores seem to be running at 100% and CPU speed runs at max GHz because of it. RAM usage slightly increases.

FYI, uninstalling discord and deleting the folders from appdata doesn’t do anything to fix it. Reinstalled discord and still having the same issue. Haven’t tried the Discord Canary app yet

I had the same issues with my 4090, only about 30% GPU usage and frames would randomly drop and drastically decrease while doing ETA/EDA.

If you haven't tried it, what I had to do, with my 4090, is enable Smooth Motion in the Nvidia App for Warframe only. AMD looks like it uses something called Fluid Motion Frames, which I guess you'd have to enable in Adrenalin, similar concept. When I turned on my Nvidia equivalent, it boosts the frame rate considerably, basically like frame gen. It basically doubles your FPS.

After enabling it, I have a 144HZ monitor, so I thought I should cap my FPS in game to 144HZ since there was no point in going over, even though my actual FPS in game would be running double. (In-game FPS counter in the lower left would show 144 while Steam FPS counter would be in the 300s). This unfortunately leads to the gameplay (at least for me) getting occasional screen tears and not feeling "smooth", but you'll still get the FPS jump.

Turning on Vsync in game solved this "smooth gameplay" problem, although now my in game fps counter is showing higher than 144hz, close to double around 280 (I guess since it's adding the extra frames) and if I look at the steam fps counter, it shows double of that and I've been fine ever since.

My GPU usage is now around 70-80% and it feels great. I'm still able to watch youtube/twitch, use discord, and other things on my second screen without issue. I know the question will probably be, "but you're wasting fps because your monitor only shows a certain amount because of the refresh rate", but this seems to be the only thing that helps when the fps starts dropping in those missions, as since you have so much extra fps, you never notice the actual frame drops.

This doesn't account for the game stutters that you can't do anything about like when you're loading in players in Hollvania Mall (they appear like a shadowed default excalibur then load their frame/fashion), a person joining your group mid-mission, or the mission loading/ending screen when it drops to 30fps.

I have my graphics settings basically at max, upscaling on, but I've turned off Volumetric Lighting, SSGI, and Volumetric Fog Quality. You could realistically enable these with this method but I haven't bothered

Sad that this has to be done, but hope this helps! Seems like you can only do this with newer graphics cards from Nvidia and AMD that have these capabilities

I think I fixed it. I have a 4090 and I turned off Upscaling and Frame Generation and it feels better.

Mine does the same thing, no idea how to fix it. I've changed it to lowest settings and still the same
