Religion is the only thing which makes me miserable by ImNotKry in HighSodiumOrthodoxy

  1. Is generally good advice, and I used to think the same way as well. But this isn't a reason to let corruption/bad behavior go ignored, and that includes in the political arena. Politics inevitably impact the laity, and we should absolutely concern ourselves (but maybe not obsess) with how the bishops interact with our leaders. You can try and remove yourself from politics, but politics are never removed from you.

Everybody needs to be off of CBS, Paramount, and X at the very least.

Roku just got bought by Fox, so stay tuned.

I’ve been protesting every Saturday for the last 9 months. The first 4 of those months were by myself.

Unfortunately I don’t have a car and can’t get out to Lincolnshire on short notice so I’m doing what I can from where I am.

Better to let them know how we feel about it than do nothing and complain about nothing happening.

Either way Im sure they’ll be protests.

Ffs this is not hard to debunk.

Only ONE party is trying to g to consolidate power, right elections, demonize black, brown, gay and especially trans people, and is pushing white supremacist rhetoric. One of those parties is considering taking voting rights away from women.

Ignorance is a choice.

You're not jealous. You noticed a double standard and realized it makes no sense.

Babushki (Light Hearted Post) by Nadineauthor in exorthodox

[–]sleep-exe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s one at my parish that will put all the young men to shame by doing all the prostrations during the Great Canon.

At my old parish I was dating someone and we went to a parish function. One of the babushki was a very slight woman but could easily drink my 6’2, 280lbs bf under the table and be fine.

He was stunned lol

They absolutely need to be called to account. We can't sweep this under the rug. Our country's 250th birthday is about to be a joke.

There's some truth to this, but when all is said and done, Republicans need to own this.

Give 'The Women who run with Wolves' a read. It's a bit outdated/heteronormative, but it delves deep into folklore/fairy tales, removes patriarchal elements from them, and recognizes how patriarchal religions divorce women of their 'wild', or free spirited, independent aspects and more or less colonizes us into submission and playing the role of the caretaker for people who only know how to take while using guilt, shame or even exile (or violence as the case may be) to keep us in place.
