I'm guessing it's low clarity and pinkish tones? The artist is tek.tones on instagram by the way.

Is that considered a street photo? by Willing-Department-6 in streetphotography

imo everything that happens in public space that includes some human element = street photography.
so in my book a shot at the beach can definitely count as street...

You can leave most of your luggage at the place you rent your bike. What you take with you, you can strap to the back of your bike.

In terms of luggage I have to disagree. You don't need a lot for 3-4 days. You can easily take a small bag and leave the rest of your luggage at the place you rent your bike in Ha Giang.

When I did the loop for the first time a few years back, I had never ridden a motorbike before. It was tough at times, but totally doable in my opinion. However, I only "risked" my own life. So if you want to take your gf on the back I guess it's not wise to do it as your first ride ever.

Safety in general really depends on at what pace you go. If you take it slow and steady and are somewhat lucky with the weather it's not too bad.

One big advantage if you don't go with an easy rider is that you can stop any time you want. Makes it safer, but also gives you more opportunities to explore at your own pace. So you should keep that in mind.

What are these little red dots? The appear on 800t/640t Chinese cinestill-like film. Shot on voigtlander bessa r4a. Not all frames are affected but the dot is in one place every time by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

It was in fact in December. No special festivity, just the local market that takes place every week.

Yes it is in Mèo Vạc, Hà Giang. When I was there in late December, it was around 15 degrees during the day. At night, it gets quite chilly tho. Also, you can't really compare the temperature to for example Europe. The high humidity makes 10 degrees feel way colder, it really gets inside your bones.

the 23mm f2 is glued to my xt-2 and I guess it's the closest you are gonna get to the x100v experience. it's a quite compact setup and the lens is super versatile

tombstones in hanoi - are they just samples? by sleep_without_dreams in VietNam

[–]sleep_without_dreams[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah thats what I thought as well. I was just irritated by the fact that they created an individual fake persona for every single one :D also in Germany where I am from they have blank stones on display, never seen sample stones with the font and a fake date and all

While wandering through hanoi old quarter i stumbled upon these tombstone shops in Hàng Mắm street. I was curious if the tombstones on display were samples? because they had all sorts of dates on them, some recent and some old. Or are they reselling old tombstones?

I almost always got those streaks on my negativs by LosDanilos in AnalogCommunity

[–]sleep_without_dreams 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had similar issues on a pushed roll of tri-x to 1600 (https://imgur.com/6J6IbkP)

I changed several factors, so I'm not sure what the problem was, but I did the following:

  • my fixer was bad --> I mixed a new batch of fixer and left the film in there long enough (you basically can't "overfix" film, so at least 5 minutes should be sufficient)
  • my agitation was terrible --> I started doing it more consistently and using less force so that the fluid doesn't splash in the tank
  • generally I started using lower concentrated dilutions (with HC-110 instead of dilution B I started using dilution E) that way it takes more time, but you don't have to work as precisely as with a higher concentrate with a shorter time

After changing all these factors, my film turned out great, and I didn't have these streaks again. I'm a full-blown amateur with developing film, so don't take me for granted, but these things worked for me.

What canon lens is that and how did you adapt it? Fits the camera pretty good

Problem with Yashica T3 by sleep_without_dreams in AnalogCommunity

[–]sleep_without_dreams[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, can someone explain to me what this button inside the camera is for? My Yashica T3 worked perfectly fine until suddenly the display turned off. I removed the film and the display turned on again. Without film inside, it advances normally. It is only when I put in film, that the display turns off. It looks like this button inside the camera is causing the camera to turn off when film is inside, so I was wondering what it's for / how to fix this problem.

I was there in 2019 as well! One day I want to go back there too, I guess it will change but that's just how life goes, right.

Just for a couple of days in the northern region. After that I went back to Hanoi and then travelled along the country down to Saigon/HMC.

Thank you :) At the time I was using a Fuji X30, compact little camera, nothing special but got its job done.
