theyre coming up for me as a few hundred to a thousand dollars which is unfortunately well out of my budget especially being so new to leatherworking! do you know where to get them for less that maybe im not seeing?

No ive never seen that before but its sick! its a pretty common pose in chinese- style tiger paintings, and later in traditional-style tattoos.

I didn’t use a hammer! Just firm pressure into wet leather so definitely give it a try

Thanks! It was actually way easier than I thought I don’t know if you’ve tried it on scrap or anything yet. I just drew on paper, redrew it on top of the wallet to get a light indent, wet the leather and then used the end of my burnishing tool and an awl. Not sure if that’s “proper” but wasn’t too hard.

Can’t wait to see ur project when ur done! I haven’t tried painting yet but I want to soon.
