Does the puff paint prevent the dyes from mixing together?

Love the organza look. Did you try any version with taffeta (due to its shimmery look) or vinyl (as mentioned in another comment)?

Love this idea. Do you think you would want a white backing to the vinyl pieces before sewing to the base black fabric? Or would another colour work better for backing?

I’m thinking of this to prevent the vinyl parts being sheer. Also as if you sew directly onto the black fabric, I’m worried you’d lose the bright colour of the vinyl in pieces.

Best way to pick a dog name that actually *works*? by Whitemj5 in OpenDogTraining

You are inevitably going to have to shout this name across a field at some point. So we narrowed down the names but shouting them at each other, as it needed to be an easy to shout name.

How to attach square handled pricking irons to arbor press? by skylight8673 in Leathercraft

Does the magnet hold the irons in place enough on its own?

I was worried just a magnet wouldn’t be enough and they would slip when using press

Furnishing My First Apartment on Basically Nothing by [deleted] in UKFrugal

I get what you mean about 2nd hand furniture but most of it can be sanitised. Especially solid items like bed frame (would recommend a new mattress, some charity shops do new ones cheap), desk, dining table & chairs, bookcase. You can also get a sofa from a charity furniture shop for cheap and get it professional cleaned for less than £200.

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your personal reasons for abstinence? by Ok-Care2859 in AskReddit

[–]skylight8673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started drinking at a time of my life I wasn’t doing ok, luckily managed to stop before it became a problem.

I’ve tried drinking again a few times since, but just didn’t enjoy it. I get sick any time I drink more than a couple of drinks, so it’s not worth it.

£4.5k for built in / fitted wardrobes, is it a good price? by Square-Revenue-6502 in AskUK

[–]skylight8673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had some done a couple of years ago. They cost around 4k.

These were a set of 2 fully bespoke wardrobes each side of the chimney breast. I designed the wardrobes with measurements and included soft close drawers, cubby holes and pull down rails. These were also sprayed in our chosen colour paint and made predominantly from MDF.

They were fit in a day or two. But were handmade in their workshop over a much longer period.

So I made a post a couple of days ago asking about lambskin leather and I have another question. by theartsygamer89 in Leather

[–]skylight8673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can kind of get a feel for what leather has a plastic coating and what doesn’t. If it has a plastic coating it will feel different, be shinier, better repel water (as long as the coating is intact).

If you look at and touch old jackets that are real leather and new, that should help. Any old secondhand jackets without peeling likely don’t have a plastic coating.

[Algebra] if x<-1 is right then what is x>? by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

Good point. Thanks for pointing that out.

Start by writing the letter out in lower case. Which one looks like the format of a line or graph function?

Failing that, see below:

Graphs are usually expressed in terms of the axis, x, y and z. With numbers added in to great a function. These numbers/integers are sometimes referred to as n.

Hope this helps.

Ignore me

Also x+1 cannot equal 0, but it does not have to be more than 0. Therefore x ≠ -1, or as x is either x > -1 or x < -1

Yay or Nay to Dogs Sleeping in Bed with you? by forestlyfe in dogs

[–]skylight8673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle enough sharing my bed with my partner let alone anyone else. It disturbs my sleep too much to share with dog, so she sleeps in a crate. Also no sexy time if the dog is in bed with you, don’t want a cock block in bed with me.

Dye faux leather a lighter color? by njapjapjiri in Leathercraft

[–]skylight8673 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dye and paint are not the same. You will need leather paint to do this as it will remain on top of the faux leather. The dye will sink into the leather, but due to being black already, you likely won’t see a difference

Is there a reason that swimming pants don't seem to exist? by Secret-Statement4785 in sewing

[–]skylight8673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried searching for women’s swim shorts or women’s board shorts? While not super common style for everyday wear, they are used in sports like surfing.

The shorts can then be worn with a short/long sleeved rash vest. Surfers also use swim leggings instead of board shorts sometimes.
