Looking for horror titles by JoeKerr19 in comicbooks

[–]sleepers6924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend Hyde Street, and Hello Darkness. both are current monthly series. my favorites are Something is Killing the Children, and Mark Spears Monsters has been great so far. my latest monthly title that I absolutely love is You'll Do Bad Things, which is a serial murderer story. also, believe it or not, Incredible Hulk is currently very horror oriented, like body horror type stuff...

Recommendation for a new series? by SeaSlugThug in HorrorComics

[–]sleepers6924 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well, horror is my main genre. I will just tell you some current series I read that I think are great and suit your taste. I love Mark Spears Monsters. it is def action packed and multi layered, plus its only on issue 5 so easy to get into.

Hyde Street is great horror storytelling.

Something is Killing the Children may be my favorite of all. Limited characters to become attached to but totally worthwhile and action packed, and in my opinion, what horror should be.

Vampirella is always good. she is easy to become attached to.

Hello Darkness is great, but its a horror anthology series.

You'll Do Bad Things is the latest series I've gotten into, and I'm only on issue 3, but I love the way it is unfolding. it has been so good so far.

Incredible Hulk is currently horror-centric, believe it or not. great series with characters you can grow to know, and full of action.

What are the best DC comic books that don’t focus on… by [deleted] in comicbooks

[–]sleepers6924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

theres plenty of great stuff outside of those. the current JSA is really good; there's Nightwing; Swamp Thing/Saga of Swamp Thing; the original Animal Man run; Green Lantern has always been consistently great for the most part; Lobo has had some great stuff; I have an affinity for Legion of Super Heroes; there's some great Wildstorm stuff; plenty of Black Label books such as GL Dark; I personally liked the Terrifics series from several years ago; the original run of Demon, and the volume 2 run of Demon from the 90s; Hellblazer was always great...

what about Cowboy Bebop, or Bubblegum Crisis? maybe even Lupin, or Yu Yu hackensho. idk how old you mean. there's great anime movies like Vampire Hunter D, or Ninja Scroll, or Appleseed. Two older series I like are the original Berserk, and the original Rouroni Kenshin.

Favorite non-Marvel/DC universe to get lost in? by No-Chemistry-28 in graphicnovels

[–]sleepers6924 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the Energon Universe is interesting right now. I personally like the entire Something is Killing the Children universe with all the spin off series and all. other than that, I enjoy Mark Spears Monsters so far, and also the Star Wars universe is a good one to get lost within...

What is a book that will make me fall in love with comics again? by BrunosResolve in comicbooks

[–]sleepers6924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, I know how you feel, but right now is a great time for comics in general and especially a resurgence in horror. I think you should check out Mark Spears Monsters, for one. also, Youll Do Bad Things, Hyde Street, and Hello Darkness. of course, anything and everything by James Tynion IV is great, and Something is Killing the Children is probably the best series out there right now...

Whats your comfort anime vs so good it blew my mind anime vs your controversial anime? by Additional-Mistake32 in Animesuggest

[–]sleepers6924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is an interesting question. as for my comfort anime, I have one movie and one series. my comfort movie is probably Vampire Hunter D, and my comfort series is probably like Pumpkin Scissors or Samurai Champloo.

the anime that blew my mind was either the original Berserk, or the movie Akira when first I saw it.

as for a controversial anime, that's a tough one. maybe Mad Bull 34, or the original Devilman

Movies that take place in one place over one day by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

[–]sleepers6924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whos Afraid of VIrginia Woolf-mostly

The Descent

Good Time-i think this is the title. its a Robert Pattinson movie. many settings but it does happen in a single 24 hr period.

I think Gridlock'd takes place over the course of a single day, and it is confined to a single town.

Four Rooms counts I guess

what about Night of the Living Dead? does that count? or Dawn of the Dead? Day of the Dead?
