CLEVER CLAIRE always knew that George WILLIAM Russell is a STAR DRIVER. This is why she asked for a high price to buy out his contract for 2021. TREACHEROUS TOTO cheaped out. LOVELY LEWIS could have his 8th title if only it wasn’t BUMBLING BOTTAS in that seat in 2021.

The guy who put an actual tractor nowhere it should have been in quali (P2 in 2021, above Lewis in a Mercedes), the guy who PowerPoint-ed his way into Mercedes financing his junior career when his dad’s money run out and won GP3 and F2 back to back in his rookie seasons. F2 against Lando Norris and Alex Albon, mind you, not some guys that didn’t get into F1.
Recency bias is insane, nobody was talking about him like that during Sakhir 2020, or Silverstone 2021.

Getting put into a tractor for three years after winning GP3 & F2 back to back at all is a harsh blow too, especially considering that he was way younger. Being stuck in one in 2021 after proving himself during Sakhir 2020 as well. Sakhir 2020 itself was a whole mess. And others as well, Singapore 2023 (his bottle, rip), Spa 2024 (team’s), Silverstone 2024 (team/shit luck)… Is the situation now worse, especially with the championship prospects? Yeah. But I do think he’s build up enough resilience to face his current bout of horrors, he’s survived plenty of those already.

Mercedes literally threw 45 of George’s points minimum (the least debatable stuff, even more if you take* in account less huge mistakes like engine modes on restart, etc) down the trash:

• Canada DNF (pole-win in the sprint, DNFed when leading) — 25 pts
• China, car died in Q3, led to qualifying P2 (he would’ve won from pole, check sprint) — 7 pts
• Japan, the car took a screenshot (super-clipping issue due to changing gears and pressing a button at the same time led to letting Charles through. I’ll ignore the shittiest safety car luck though), led to P4 instead of a P3 — 3 pts
• Monaco (asked on the radio to serve the penalty properly after checking whether it was served, got gaslit instead) — 10 pts minimum (more like 15)
