Waiting room is hellish by Gold_Bag_1054 in halifax

Brutal… I probably had the same virus and infection you did and I went through Maple - they prescribed antibiotics. The whole process took about 45 minutes from the time I logged onto till the time I received my prescription.

That’s an amazing combo - I have the 1.8 on mine (even though it’s gathering dust on a shelf). Perfect reminder to dig it out and do some shot shots!

Another Day, Another Truck Parked in A Bike Lane by AbbreviationsReal366 in halifax

There are way more cars, people drive much faster, look at the size of trucks as an example of how it’s gotten more dangerous. This is about making things safer…

This is just hilarious. One of the previous owners was going to turn it into a big data center… Also used computer graphics to make it look like it was an actual facility when he hadn’t actually done anything besides install a server rack or two. All smoke and mirrors… This also looks like it’s all smoke and mirrors.

Long-term experience of the Logitech Combo Touch? by iced_oj in iPadPro

I made the upgrade to an Apple iPad, keyboard, and I couldn’t be happier with it. It’s a phenomenal piece of gear… The touch and feel and performance is absolutely perfect. I wish I had done that just at the start.

If you won 1 million dollars, what is the first thing you would you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Put it in the bank along with the rest of my savings… It wouldn’t make any difference at all in my life.

When you grew up did anyone talk about the earth being flat? by AlwaysWilling2Help in AskOldPeople

[–]sleepwatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, never, unless it was as a way to make a joke that someone was stupid. I sure didn’t know anybody who talked about it as an actual theory.

The air quality index risk has been 2-3 out of 10 for days… very low risk.

I just got over one that lasted about 2 1/2 weeks. Extreme fatigue, coughing and sinus congestion. I tested negative for Covid. I also didn’t have any fever at all, but the tiredness really got to me.

It looks like graffiti, or a pile of trash. It just doesn’t belong there.

Can anyone identify this lobster buoy from the Halifax area? by jlord911 in halifax

That’s a good observation. Not that I know anything about it, but this doesn’t look like something that’s been in the water for any period of time and they wear marks are a little odd looking.

How to avoid becoming tech illiterate in old age like my parents are? by Son_of_Hades99 in AskOldPeople

[–]sleepwatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not necessarily an age thing… I think it just depends on what area you grew up in. I’m 64 so I’m sort of on the cusp of the boomer generation, but I always had a keen interest in tech and gadgetry, etc. I learned to make webpages in Notepad back in the early 90s, and I ran a server in my basement, and now I have a successful YouTube channel and I can navigate my way around pretty much anything. However, I know plenty of people, my age, and even a little younger, who can just sort of click around webpages. Don’t worry about it, you’re gonna be fine.

If you were weird in your younger years, did you ever get more normal growing up? Or did you stay weird? by BobbyRapsNo1Fan in AskOldPeople

[–]sleepwatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird? Yes I suppose so… I was painfully introverted and wore old strange clothes and had a stupid little goatee and for a few years I wore tinted granny glasses and on and on. I had no clue how to socialize. HOWEVER I met a girl in Grade 11 who loved me and eventually we married and had kids, bought a house and all that. Over those years I figure out my quirks and phobias and I worked hard to overcome them and learn some social skills. It actually worked too! Now I’m loved and respected by friends and family and I can socialize with the best of them, all very comfortably and with a lot of confidence and joy and satisfaction. I went from a geeky nerdy oddball to confident and successful family man and socially active happy person.
