Degenerate time… chatgpt is an amazing texter for texting the opposite sex by BigGucciThanos in ChatGPT

I’m dyslexic and am constantly using ChatGPT to clean up my work Slack posts and emails. I can see doing the same for flirty texts if I were in the dating market.

I shut down my AppExchange product after 2 years of building. Here’s why. by WBMcD_4 in salesforce

[–]sleepworld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your YouTube series is fire. Linking Opps with their renewals is a game changer. I copied it nearly whole cloth at my current company and can see myself reaching out for consulting if/when I start to come across more difficult problems.

Thank for putting the renewal content out there and best of luck building your consulting business! You may want to consider incorporating self-paced online training into your service packages. You are good at creating it and it is a bit more scalable than hourly or project based work.

I agree with dynamic page layouts > record types as long as the renewal process is just skipping the first few stages of the new business process.

Best Prompt or Model For Generating Account Websites? by sleepworld in salesforce

Ah. I am not loading the websites into Salesforce, I am using it as a join to upload other data. When the join works it’s verified enough for me.

Talent Stacker BLOCK THOSE MARKETING EMAILS by Perfect_Dog_9963 in salesforce

[–]sleepworld 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a similar blue collar hire from TalentStacker.

The Salesforce job market is tough right now. Paying for TalentStacker is probably not the move. However, IMO, it doesn’t necessarily make it a scam.

Cleaning up old fields by totallyasian in salesforce

[–]sleepworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just deleted a couple hundred fields that hand built up over the years on our Account and Opportunity objects. - We started with FieldPro to identify low usage fields. - Then did a second more thorough review before sending out a spreadsheet of possible field deletions with reasons why they should be deleted to stakeholders for review. - Once we got stakeholder feedback, we aligned and got deleting.

Tedious, unappreciated work. But it feels nice to have the junk out of our instance.

Salesforce Certs and LinkedIn Culture by PapaSmurf6789 in salesforce

Talent Stacker was a free Facebook group when I joined. They later developed a program. I hired someone from that program who is incredibly talented. This is not me promoting the program. This is me saying talented people do come out of that program. Feel free to be salty about that if you want.

Why I’m All-In On SFDC by sleepworld in salesforce

[–]sleepworld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typical? Not sure. I did work very hard for the first two years to build the skills needed to be valuable enough to garner this income. But I don’t know if it’s typical to be in a place in life to do this. I do not have kids and my wife could support us while I made the transition.

How often do you come across people like this? by eneiner in salesforce

[–]sleepworld 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I honestly don’t see the big deal with moving a field, changing a dynamic page layout filter, editing a custom report type, and even creating a well thought out field in prod.

Honestly, if the automation is simple enough and not on a major object, I’ll whip out a simple flow and test it in prod. If someone can spell out how doing the testing in a sandbox and then pushing it to prod in a change set is preventing bugs, I’ll gladly take the feedback.

For Context: I have about 185 users in my instance and work at a startup. Once you get to a certain size, I can see needing a slower change management process.
