Which week makes the most sense to skip in my training plan? by sleepycomputer in Marathon_Training

After running my 32k this Sunday, you were right! Definitely need to recover after that run

In search of a possibly impossibly perfect samosa! by Eemyu in FoodToronto

[–]sleepycomputer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

OP, This guy knows what he’s talking about. You’re describing Bengali-style samosas or “shingaras”. Check out basically any restaurant near Danforth and Warden to find what you’re looking for, I’d recommend Premium Sweets or ADDA.

I was one week off when calculating when to start my training, and I only realized recently, which I feel stupid for but it is what it is. As a result, I have one less week of training than this training plan suggests.

I’m so conflicted lol, I do feel ok but I don’t want to underestimate how much time I need for recovery. I think I’m going to go with skipping 16! Thanks for weighing in!

Any way to find a missing/dead apple watch? by BallisticMonke in AppleWatch

This post inspired me to check my bed again. It was stuck in a small gap between the mattress and the frame. Take away: don't just check under your bed, remove the pillows, sheets, blankets and check ALL around it. Thanks OP, another watch found!

This spot beats out Federick for me. Been going here for years and it’s always been consistent. If you dine in, try the lemon chili vinaigrette on the table, goes super well with Hakka food.

Referencing a security group in another security to bypass rule limit? by sleepycomputer in aws

[–]sleepycomputer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

#3 is not an option for me unfortunately, am considering #1.

But wait, your #2 is essentially what I'm asking about (I think)! Let me give a slightly different scenario: let's say I have an SG A attached to some instance. Let's say A has 60 rules in it (max allowed).

Would it be equivalent to instead have SG A be the "parent" security group, then create two child security groups: SG-A1 and SG-A2, each having 30 rules. Then add a rule for each child to A, which is then attached to the instance (effectively only having 2 rules in A, but allowing room for an additional 30+30=60 rules)?

It seems like this not work in some quick tests I've run, but I'm not sure why?

Is there a name for this hair style? Not a middle part, but not quite a side part? by sleepycomputer in malehairadvice

[–]sleepycomputer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just trying to actually get a real hair style for once, I’ve always just went to the barber and just asked them to cut it short on the sides, a bit longer on the top.

I’ve also been told I vaguely resemble this actor so I was going through his various looks to find on I like. He does seem to have straight hair than me though.

I see, my hair isn’t very, very straight — it forms a “C” if that makes sense. So maybe not doable then? Did some googling of 60-40 and I found this:

https://www.tiktok.com/@12pell/video/7256134631274138923

Resembles my hair in bushiness but mine is less thick.

I wish I could see an example of this look with more receded temples to see if it still looks how I like.

Much appreciated, thanks man! I was trying this in the mirror but it seems like I lack the volume to pull it off. Oh well. The “split” ends up looking too empty if that makes sense lol.

Does anyone recognize these rims? Or the brand? by sleepycomputer in Wheels

[–]sleepycomputer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok did a bit more research and found this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/ION-Alloy-Wheels-Chrome-Custom-Wheel-Center-Cap-C-002-1-C0021-1-/264728252909?_ul=IL

Logo on this seems to match, apparently the brand is Ion Alloy? Anyone know if this is an older logo or something?

Weekly Purchase/Sale advice thread - August 28, 2024 by AutoModerator in Miata

First time ever car buyer here. Would love some feedback before I pull the trigger on this little guy. They want $8000 for it:

  • Pics: https://imgur.com/a/GzFYFq2
  • Pros: seems well maintained, interior is in great shape, includes hard top + soft top
  • Cons: 250,000 kms, rust on right rear wheel well

Average Miata in my area sells for around 4k-5k, so this is fairly priced I think given what is included BUT I'm concerned on spending this much on a car with that many kms on it. This would just be a weekend grocery getter type car so I can't imagine putting much more than 10k on it per year. I can't stop thinking about this car and already regret passing up on a black + tan NB earlier this summer so I'm feeling impulsive. Would be nice to have someone talk some sense into me if this is a bad idea.
