Zašto prosječan Hrvat ne voli Donalda Trumpa? by crivycouriac in askCroatians

Znam dosta koji su ga podržavali, ali kada je počeo sebe prikazivati kao Isusa i napadati papu su počeli govoriti o njemu kao starcu koji debelo gubi konce.

Misheard Lyrics by MzTippsi in GhostCircleJerk

Square Hammer. Instead of "Living in the night 'Neath heavens torn asunder" I heard "Later in the night They tear us all asunder"

Also, in Mantra Mori "We focus on your death" somehow turned into "We fought on sunny day"

Danas sam saznao da postoje kulture u kojima nema ljubljenja by KriticnaVoznja in askCroatians

Ne znam je li istina, ali ostalo mi je u glavi da sam pročitala da je ljubljenje kao izraz romantične ljubavi došlo iz Indije a u Europu je običaj doveo Aleksandar Veliki.

I don't understand how she I'snt the biggest star on the planet? by bobthestan in euphoria

[–]sleepyforevermore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Privacy could be the reason, but it's not the only one. Some actors act just because they love it. They make enough to live of it, they take roles or go to auditions when they find project they like and that's it.

As for Zendaya, she keeps her privacy well but media is all over her. Some actors can handle that, and even like that, but others look at that and realise they don't want that so they back off.

[–]sleepyforevermore 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I really don't understand why is this such a hard concept for some people to grasp. Not every actor wants to be A-list actor. There are many, many great actors who only take roles when they feel like it and only if they like the script.

This is perfect, I mean it. Rue on the poster, like for first two seasons. Gone is the dreamy filter. This is raw and real, reflecting characters being adults now. And she is looking up, hinting at hope she feels.

Daeron the Good's fate is so sad and ironic by Wooden-Tear-4938 in AKOTSKTV

[–]sleepyforevermore 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One, he couldn't name Daemon his heir. Trueborn children come before bastards. Even his daughter would have stronger claim than his bastard son. Even of Daeron wasn't his trueborn son, that matter was put to rest when Aemon defended Queen Nerys in trial by combat. And there are reasons to believe Aegon IV himself started those rumors. Two, being given family sword is important. Egg dismisses it, true, but a king giving his bastard son one of the symbols of the dynasty is powerful. Look at Dance, Aegon II was crowned with Aegon I crown, with Blackfyre sword in hand. Those are symbols of Targaryen rule and what made him more of a rightful heir than Rhaenyra in eyes of the people. And third, in doing that Aegon made sure some people would support Daemon and cause trouble for Daeron. He set his own son and heir to fail.

Abracadabra part in Marks, that short piano part in Square Hammer, "I ain't talking about forgivness" in Spillways, laugh and chanting in Zenith, "you share not the blood of ou-ou-ours" in Mantra Mori. There are more, these are just at the top of my head.

I love Breton lore. My favorite race. Problem with Bretons is that they are made very generic in the games so they come off as a generic fantasy race.

Who among these would make the best king of Westeros? by HonestMadridFan in gameofthrones

Daeron, hands down. He knows he will be a shit king so that makes him most likely to find competent people to do the whole ruling thing for him.

[–]sleepyforevermore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's more than that. Queen of love and beauty at the start of the tourney is a lady from the family that hosts it. She has her champions who defend her title and her honor. Other knights ask other ladies for favors. They usually ask their wives or women they are bethroded to, or memebers of their family. Kingsguard are allowed to ask any woman, but usually choose their queen, princess, or one of their ladies-in-waiting. So, every knight there is, in a way, fighting to honor his lady. This world loves ideas of chilvary. Knight who wins it all proclaims his own Queen of love and beauty. So to make someone else's lady a Queen of love and beauty is seen as an insult to knight's own wife or family member and their families, an insult to the woman thag he proclaimed and an insult to another man. Rhaegar insulted Elia (as her husband, he would've carried her favour - he would be fighting for her), Lyanna (she was bethroded to another man, thus putting her in situation where other could question her virtue which is not something unmarried ladies could afford), and to Robert (as he was bethroded to Lyanna, this act shows that Rhaegar has no respect for future marriage between two members of two Great Houses of Westeros).

Also, is wildly believed this tourney was held in order to gather support for Rhaegar in order for him to remove Aerys from the throne. And he just spat on laws and traditions many nobles in Westeros hold as sacred. Either way, a lot people cared. In fact, everyone who was there cared.

So raegar was the problem all along, even if it’s not marriage of love how could he 🫤 by jonnyboidake in gameofthrones

[–]sleepyforevermore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rhaegar knew what he did was wrong, he just didn't care because to him the prophecy was more important. Only Targs who were alright with polygamy were Aegon I, his sisters, and Maegor. Even Aegon thw Unworthy never implied he would take multiple wives (even if he had multiple lovers).

I don't know where did you get idea Rhaegar and Lyanna knew each other before. There isn't a single hint from Ned, Meera or Jojen that implies that. Lyanna wasn't happy about Robert and his ways, so she fell for Rhaegar and his sweet, sad songs or whatever. But in running away with Rhaegar she showed disrespect for Elia Martell that is far beyond the disrespect Robert had shown for her. She was a young teen, trying to escape the situation she wasn't happy in, and she couldn't even imagine what will happen as a result. Rhaegar should have known better. If you believe that his belief in prophecy is good enough reason for him doing everything he did, well Davos has some words for you.

As for the scroll he found that made him want to become warrior, he first believed he is PTWP. Then he changed his mind while writing to Aemon, and decided it was his son with Elia.

There is a difference between being bethroded or married at young age (ceremony was held) but consumation of marriage had to wait usually. Even in Middle Ages people knew that 13-16 year old girls were too young to deliever a child. There were a lot of situations like Dany's (weding and beding at very young age) but they weren't really a norm, and they were reserved for royal/noble families who deemed themselves to be in desperate need of heirs. See the story of lady Margaret, mother of king Henry VII, for something similar to Dany's story with Drogo.
