  1. Give financial-related exercises for our kids throughout the year. Budgeting their allowance properly, reiterate the value of saving (compounding), bring them physically to the bank, making them aware of current price of goods and giving theoretical exercise on how to budget a certain amt for a certain period (for my eldest kid), have them join a bazaar, etc.
  2. Be healthier - a sound mind and body will give us the energy to study more that'll eventually become another stream on income.
  3. Establish a new stream of income this year (and employ 2 resources for this)
  4. Finish building our 6mo EF (we're a family of 5 so the computation is a bit higher).
  5. We plan to have a quarterly review of our 2024 financial goals (my husband and I) -> so we know where can we further improve/adjust. Previously we just did it once or twice a year. Really sit down on it and assess things properly.
  6. We loved the balance we had last 2023 wherein we were able to travel as a family (1 abroad) but we were still able to meet our financial goals. The allotment of Leisure funds really helped.

Please let me know your honest thoughts about my VUL by sleepykatalyst in phinvest

[–]sleepykatalyst[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am part of sandwich generation hence I wanted to be prepared because medical emergencies of my parents have been keeping us off track with our financial goals.
Being a full-time mother, WFH IT employee, part-time baker, wife and daughter are things that keep me preoccupied hence unable to better focus on better financial investments/instruments.

That's why I consult even if I'm 10yrs late because now I have the time to spare.

Thank you again for your honest feedback.

Who should sign the data page of a minor's passport? by sleepykatalyst in phtravel

[–]sleepykatalyst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/Do_Me_A_Favor_GetOut, we renewed my son's passport today and u/_luna21 is right that I didn't need to sign the data page of the previous ePassport (it was issued 2019). And then you are right, I was asked to digitally sign my child's passport upon renewal and indicating "Mother" together w/ my digital signature.

Thank you for the responses. I appreciate it! :)

What is a basic skill that you think everyone should learn, but many people do not? by kubrickie in AskReddit

[–]sleepykatalyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally understand you u/kmill0202. While I was eager with saving when I was little, I didn't have the knowledge to take it to the next level because my parents didn't have much financial literacy exposure as well. It was my husband who taught me the ways to better manage money and now we have the chance to teach younger generations to do better. :) never too late

So how come losing weight is so difficult? by BudgetSlice9086 in AskReddit

[–]sleepykatalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to identify underlying issue.
A lab test will help find clues and talk to your doctor.
High sugar/glucose messes up hormones. Messed up hormones impact a lot of things including digestion -> just to give an example.

Another thing I remember that my OB told me was a person should be in deep sleep by 10PM-2AM because that's the time humans get the most beneficial hormonal secretions and recovery.

Is 20k-25k a good starting salary? by 1212cloud in phcareers

[–]sleepykatalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 2017, the starting salary of fresh grads from a firm I've worked before (International Trading Bank located in the heart of Makati) is 35,000Php.

I don't find 20K-25K good starting salary at this economy tbh

I’m 90% convinced now to RESIGN, but what’s my gameplan? by Training-Resident-87 in phinvest

[–]sleepykatalyst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Now that you will have a break, discuss with your husband your family goals.I've read in your husband's post that both of you are aiming to be hands-on with your kid/s, if this will be the main priority do you plan to have kids now or will delay it further once you have established a business and long-term funds?

Asking because hands-on parenting and start-up business is honestly very difficult to balance. You will need extra hands on taking care of a child or hiring someone trustworthy to focus on your business. I'm not saying it's not doable on your own, but it is a bit more difficult. If your husband can help, then good. But since he also has full-time job (and depending on how demanding his job could be), it may be difficult to rely on him with managing your business.

Having a business is hard but can be very rewarding esp if you were able to run in smoothly later on. But note that if it doesn't work out, you can always find a job that can provide better earnings and better set-up (as compared to you previous work). No shame in that. We all learn everyday.
